Wick Migration:

I like this webcomic.
He mentioned it on the page. He says only to do tropes on the Ptitle migration page at the top, and mentions the Namespace migration there.

I moved Tobuscus to WebOriginal.Tobuscus. Not many wicks but I'm very busy at the moment.

I have everything on the Musicians index moved to the Music/ namespace - except for The Lonely Island, which is a locked article. There might've been a few I missed, but those would be the ones that weren't yet added to the Musicians index. Every now and then, I'll go to a page with loads on musicians on them, and correct the wicks to the musicians articles on them.
Noir has been moved to Anime.Noir.

While correcting any links, watch out for places where Film Noir was meant instead of the show.

Just zis guy
I'm sure I asked this somewhere, but I can't find the post (and have made hundreds of forum posts since then), so I'll have to ask again.

How many inbound links does it take for a Main works page moved to the appropriate namespace to qualify for a redirect, instead of just cutlisting it?

I just always redirect it (when it doesn't need disambiguation), since that way it catches any redlinks to the mainpage that might be floating around the wiki.

Please assume the position!
Seeing as Main/TheDresdenFiles had been cut by Fast Eddie to prevent another attempt to move the Literature namespace back, there has been close to two-thousand wicks redlinked, so I think we should put this in consideration as well, so we should move these non-phantom wicks to the literature namespace.

[up]I was wondering what was going on there. Also added Dresden Files to the main list.

(The rest of this post is only tangently related this migration, but this is where the issues will be most likely to be delt with)

After some looking around, there are a couple of other things that have not been cleaned up from the Wick Ptitle Migration. Just by going down the Namespace index, I found a few titles still listed under "punctuated titles."

Also found out that there are 0 titles that use the Memetic Mutation namespace.

Of course, when we move works from their ptitle entries on the Main/ Namespace to their non-ptitle entries on the appropriate media Namespace - it will involve both types of migration.

Memetic Mutation is shortened to Memes.

In that case... There we go, the link on Namespace is fixed.

Been doing a lot of Game/ migration. The namespace is getting gradually culled. evil grin

Oh, added Cupid to the list.

A lil' bentō ?
I've already posted this at Ask The Tropers, the idiot I am should have remembered there was this thread before.

Someone has moved Love Plus to the "Manga" namespace; just wanting to point out this is a mistake.

Love Plus actually is, originally as well as first and foremost, a Video Game franchise (of the Dating Sim type). It had some manga adaptations, but they're based on the original game, and the article mainly is about the games.

It's on Video Game, now.

Actually, I am of the opinion that the people who move a trope page describing a work should also fix all the references to it. That would solve a lot of problems then and there.

I'm going to need significant help transplanting The Wesley and Shilling The Wesley to Creator's Pet.

Someone named movie007 has moved the entire Manga index to their proper namespaces.

Yes, he was responsible for setting up the Sandbox.Wick Ptitle Migration page. He's been doing a good job moving everything over.

I see the Awesomeness.
Seriously, the entire index? Wow, that dude is awesome.
Thanks, guys! :)

With a little bit of help, the Manga index is now complete - with the exception of Transformers Zone, since I'm not sure where that one should go. Anyone know where that one should go?

I suppose the next logical step is to do the Anime index, since there is a bit of an Anime/Manga overlap - but I'll probably work on that one at a more leisurely pace.
I don't know if this is the thread to talk about this, but I am often rather baffled by the choice of namespace for a certain work. For instance, Ichigo Mashimaro is placed unter the Anime namespace, whereas ARIA is placed under Manga. For ARIA this makes sense, since it started out as a manga, but the same holds true for Ichigo Mashimaro. Why are they treated differently?

[up]Whoever namespaced it probably didn't know the policy or it was done before said policy was in place and nobody moved it.
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - Camacan
I didn't know the policy at the time I had moved it. Also, I thought the article seemed to be more about the anime.
Could someone tell me what the use if of moving pages to namespaces, if you're simply redirecting to the pages from the original Main namespace anyway?

Also, what should we do with simultaneous releases? Nowadays there are more and more series that have an anime a manga and a light novel coming out at the same time. Where do we put those?

I am also baffled by entries like Galaxy Angel. Shouldn't that go into a videogame Namespace instead of Anime?
