Wick Migration:

Sweeto!
Yeah, if the LightNovel/ namespace is to be used, it's better to move the pages now, before there are large wick migrations to other namespaces. I'll do it for Angel Beats! — most of the wicks are in Anime/, but at least haven't been moved to Literature/ yet.

If there is a BIG ONE to be considered, it's certainly Haruhi Suzumiya. It's already the page image for Light Novels, and it has a huge amount of wicks. So it would certainly attract attention to the new Light Novel/ namespace. Should we move this title in priority?

Fun Fact: the following pages with the LightNovel/ Namespace (although they don't currently exist) are also LOCKED, thus preventing to move them from the Literature/ namespace.

There seems to be no clear consensus on whether this namespace is acceptable or not, even amongst the mods. I'd like to have things seriously cleared up on this.

Seeking for Light
[up] Use this thread to request that they be unlocked. If FE says that light novels should go in LightNovel/, then light novels should go in LightNovel/.

It's super effective.
Done all the wicks to Torchwood: The Lost Files on my own, but Torchwood needs moving to Series/.

Do "Work+Index" type pages belong in the Main or Series namespace?

Seeking for Light
I'm pretty sure they would belong in whichever namespace the works are from, unless it's the top-level page of a group of works in multiple media (e.g. Stargate Verse: film, television series, and an animated show), in which case it would go in main.

So...Bakemonogatari has redirects (including Light Novel/) pointing to it under Literature/, but the description itself says it's a Light Novel (as does the Namespace Migration page). Should I change it so everything's pointing to Light Novel/?

Seeking for Light
Yep.

Ok, I moved the Ai No Kusabi page from Literature to Ai no Kusabi. Already moved each index but it looks like this the literature page will also need a redirect.

I moved the discussion on that one. The subpages don't need moving. You just forgot to set the page type to work.

[up] Yeah, did that. Incidentally, you can't Cut List the Literature/ redirect - it has got 10 inbounds.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Is that wise? The Light Novel was released first, but it is incorrect to call the anime either an adaption or an spin-off. From my understanding (with the help of Wikipedia) Angel Beats! was originally conceived as an anime, not as a book. It then evolved into a multi-media project, but I can't help but feel the anime is the central work.

Also, if one is to be die hard about the first publication, it would be radio series instead.

Moved Kyou Kara Maou to Kyou Kara Maou.

I'm also confused about Winter Cicada (yes, I've been reading a bunch of BL stuff lately. The original series Haru wo Daiteita it spun off from was a manga but this title is an OVA based on a Show Within a Show in the manga the characters were filming. SO does it go under Anime or also under Manga? Haven't read the first series either so I don't know how much Winter Cicada is actually showcased in it.

It's super effective.
As there's a Film. The Avengers 1998, does that mean the upcoming Marvel film should be under Film. The Avengers 2012?

I see the Awesomeness.
I'd go with yes. Or possibly Film. The Avengers Marvel.

I dropped a note in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thread asking whether they preferred Marvel or 2012.

Years is the standard disambig. Better to go with the standard. It makes it easier to remember.

Hm, probably should put it on 2012 and then add Marvel as a redirect. That way, years down the road when people are fuzzy on the exact date, they can still get it approximately. Or in the event that another one comes out with a number attached (that's why we did Battlestar Galactica the way we did).

Please move the discussion page for Annie Hall to Film.Annie Hall.

Please move the discussion page for Ghost Trick to VideoGame.Ghost Trick.

[down] Thanks for doing that and reminding me. I guess I should not be so afraid to holler.

@Final Starman,

discussion moves are usually via holler. I am doing it for you.

EDIT: Done and hollered.

So, no one replied yet, so I guess I will ask again in a clearer way:

Can I move Angel Beats! back to Anime.Angel Beats? Even if the Light Novel technically was released first, the original project was of the anime. The novel can even be called an spin-off.

奇跡の魔女
Yeah, put it back. It should be in Anime/, not Light Novel/

It's super effective.
I gather that Yu-Gi-Oh's anime diverges enough from the original manga to make a simple unilateral move to Manga.Yu-Gi-Oh troublesome. However, if it's the case, there's no actual page to put it. Main/ redirects to the anime page, while the page called Anime.Yu-Gi-Oh has no less than 50 "in the manga" clarifications.

Someone more familiar with the franchise clarify? The show was just after my time, I think.

Should there be some sort of "first" and "second anime" disambiguation, too?

edited 24th Jan '12 6:41:19 AM by OldManHoOh

There was the original manga and what we in the West call "season 0" of the original Yu-Gi-Oh; it was the first 7 or 8 volumes. A second anime was made, which is the one most people recognize today, based off everything after that. GX and 5Ds got manga spin-offs after the anime aired, while Zexal got one before. There's also Yu-Gi-Oh R, a manga only adaptation. The details are a bit fuzzy in my head, but that's the general gist of it. tongue

It's the anime most people are familiar with, although the differences between the versions probably do warrant splitting off into the Manga/ namespace. If we do split off the original Yu-Gi-Oh, may I recommend a 3-way split: the manga, season 0, and Duel Monsters (or no tag, it's the one most people know). GX and 5Ds may not have enough examples, and Zexal isn't far in enough. YGO R already has its own page.
It's super effective.
Uhh, what's the issue here? GX, 5Ds, Zexal and the anniversary movie all have pages and more than enough examples to warrant them. When I said first and second anime, I meant specifically the "season 0" and Duel Monsters.
