Bloke:

Mate Griffon To Mare
Bloke is just a funny word.

Nobody uses it in earnest anymore, though. Sorry to disappoint you.

The first time, I read this word, was in a Terranigma faq. For some reason, the author used it do describe every male NPC.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.

Except in the same sense as a boor or irritating macho braggart.

I'm more likely to say someone's blokish than say they're a bloke, really.

Hey, where I come from we use 'bloke' quite a lot, it's pretty much our version of 'guy'.

Oi.

Britian's not the only country that gets to use this marvelous word.

I prefer "mate" whenever possible.

"Bloke" and "Mate" are interchangable. But I prefer Bloke ins some situtaions and Mate in others.

Well, 'mate' is genderneutral while bloke isn't.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone use 'bloke' except to imply something or someone was full of uncultured machismo. Like "He's really one of the blokes".

It probably depends on what part of Australia you're in. It is a pretty big country/continent.

Continentry.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.

Continentry is now going into my personal dictionary of words I should use more often. Alongside "Manly Spark" and "Woggle".

Especially when paired with "gormless, " 'cause it means the bloke in question is about to get swindled. Hell, British slang is inherently funny.
Ponders too much; thinks too little. Can't think of anything better to do.

Dude, it's Gloop!
I tend to hear 'fulla' more often over here. It's not the same...

Everyone makes mistakes, but some do so more than others.

I like the word, but I don't use it much. But that's because I'm in America and people would think I'm being weird :l
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
