Redirect farming (all related titles): First Law Of Gender Bending

There is a Fourth Law of Gender Bending in YKTTW right now. The "risk" that it'll be launched with that name has made it clear to me that the First, Second, and Third Law of Gender-Bending need searchable redirects so people can tell which one is which.

Any suggestions?

For the First, I suggest Genderbending Is Not Reversible or Genderbending Is Permanent; for the second, Genderbenders Always Adapt or Genderbenders Adapt Easily. I have no suggestions for the third.

Third could be Genderbending Brings Gender Stereotypes, though that's awfully long.

The third might be Genderbenders Are Stereotyped or Genderbenders Adopt Stereotypes.

Technically, the first law isn't just about genderbending being permanent, but more permanent if it happens to a male.

It's not necessarily even about "permanent" change per se. That'd be the most common form, but sometimes (Ranma 1/2 would be a good example), it's more like "This damn back-and-forth thing is never gonna stop, is it?"

The Laconic of the First Law of Gender Bending is "Once a girl, always a girl." Maybe we could use that?

No, the laconic is right. If a character was born as a girl, she's going to stay a girl. If a character was born a guy, then gets hits with a Gender Bender, he's going to stay a girl. This trope could conceivably called Conversation Of Females, but that doesn't really express it very well.

So... what about the assertion in post 6?

I haven't seen Ranma, but as I understand it, its about a boy cursed to turn into a girl under certain conditions. He's never going to be free from the curse, even though he can on occasion stay as a boy for a while.

Which is still not "stay[ing] as a girl," which you asserted was necessary. Which is why I asked.

Tropes Are Flexible. The spirit of the trope is "the audience likes girls more than guys, and gender bending reflects that." The Laconic doesn't delve into all that, it just sticks with the strict definition: Girls stay as girls, no matter how they arrived at that gender.

Any other ideas?

"Females" is perhaps a bit more precise, but doesn't roll off the tongue as well.

On the contrary, "females" is three syllables shorter than femininin... feminity — femininity.

I'd forgotten all about this thread of mine.

Any more suggestions for redirects for these three tropes? I still think they're needed.

• 1st: X Chromosome Status Quo and Conservation Of Females are good (and funny)
• 2nd: Resigned To Their New Gender? Abdicate Their Old Gender? Eh, can't think of anything else that explains it.
• 3rd: Invoking Gender Roles? That sounds alright.
• 4th: (Inverse)Law Of Rule 63 Denial? Oi that's long, but it does explain it

On reflection, the reason Law Of Conservation Of Femininity works better (IMO) has nothing to do with word length, but the fact that "Law of Conservation" is used with "Mass" and "Energy" in ordinary usage - not concrete plural nouns, but singular nouns expressing "intangibles".

We really do need to put up some of these redirects.

Not a single redirect has been added, since the discussion stalled on redirects for the first law. Should we just go for the blunt option and use Girls Stay Girls?
