Alright, fair enough Magcargo Man. You have your opinion and I have mine.

But could you please stop tearing the game to shreds? I don't have a problem with you expression your opinion and saying you don't like it, but ever since I came onto this thread, you've been taking constant potshots at it. I get that you don't like the game, which is fine, but I happen to be a fan of it.

[up]I wasn't tearing it to shreads. I'm tearing New Super Mario Bros 2 to shreads. I like New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Did they fail to sufficiently take advantage of the Raccoon Leaf in NSMB2? I remember that part of the fun of the Raccoon Leaf is flying to discover secrets.

[up] Not from what I've seen so far. Some Star Coins and stretches of coins can't be reached without it.

[up]There's also plenty of vertical-oriented stages.

[up] As well as different paths you can take to reach the goal in some stages, one of them may be the easy path, and one might be the rewarding one. And some require other Power Ups than the Raccoon Leaf as well.

Well well, just started playing the DS-version of Super Mario 64 again (blame Super Jeenius for his LP of Super Mario 64 for that xD) . ^^ I'm playing it on my 3DS, and lo and behold, it's a little bit more managable to control your character around than with the D-Pad, but I don't think that that will come across as a surprise. ^^ I've just saved Mario, now I'm gonna go collect the stars I can get in the first world and that world where Mario was imprisioned before I go on. Wanna be Super-OCD here and actually get everything this time. xD

[up][up]Does the control stick allow for finer control over the characters' movements than the DS? I'm not just talking about direction, I'm talking about if you can control whether you run or walk.

[up][up] No, it doesn't, I'm sorry. ^^" But, I dunno, it just feels more "natural" to control the game with the Circle Pad instead of the D-Pad. (but then again, I prefer the D-Pad for Okamiden... I'm really weird like that xD But then again, that game doesn't have a Run-button, and Chibi is pretty much always running in fullspeed, so there ^^)

[up]Well, I didn't expect it to, since 64 DS was made with the DS in mind, so of course the control stick wouldn't be able to influence movement speed. Also the reason the slide pad feels more natural is because the original SM64 was made with a control stick in mind.

Also, I'm talking about the two Zelda DS games having two control schemes, not some crossover thing. ...I have no idea what you're talking about here...

I was talking to Wacky about the Pokemon/Mario crossover joke...

Still easier to control. grin

[up]Well, the control stick was developed to pretty much make 3D-plane games easier to control. I noted that in my YKTTW for the fifth generation of consoles.

[up]Me personally, I liked the D-Pad when I played on the Play Station, but I switched over to the analog stick when I played Game Cube and Wii games. I prefer whatever doesn't make me have to shift my thumb too much.

Hey, just because you didn't have a problem with the D-pad, doesn't mean that others didn't. In fact, that was one of the main complaints about 64 DS.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!

Yeah, glad I bought the 3DS. I mean, not just for OOT. But to make Super Mario 64 DS easier to play.(really, it's the D-Pad that makes it a bit harder)

It doesn't do well for regular Pokemon games, though. D-Pad is perfect for that one.

[up]That's because Pokemon only lets you move in 4 directions. If Pokemon had more freedom of movement, it would need a control stick.

Now, speaking of making 3D games easier to play, is it really true that the 3D of the 3DS makes 3D Land easier to play?

[up]No. It's a lie. 3D Mario games were never hard to play (as in judging distances).
