Rules

The rules of this contest will be the same as previous contests.

• Only original work, written for this contest.
• Theme: "One scene from multiple POVs." *
  ^{Two or more POVs. The different takes don't need to be exactly concurrent, but there should be significant overlap.}
• Word Count: 2000-5000 words. Verify using this word count tool.
• Deadline: July 8 (midnight Pacific Time).

Judging

Judging is anonymous. When your story is complete, upload it to Free Text Host. Do not include your name anywhere in the document. Then you will PM the URL to me, and I will in turn PM all the entries to the judges.

The stories will be scored by each judge out of 25 points according to the following scale:

• Conventions: 5 points.
• Theme: 5 points.
• Overall: 15 points.

Huh, I guess I will join, thought I'd be busy but such is not the case. As far as deadlines go, just give a date and then try your best to have people follow it, I'll do so at any rate, I promise.

Define 'one scene' and define 'multiple PO Vs'

Hmm . . . This reminds me of a piece I tried that didn't work out very well at the time. I think I know enough now to give it another shot. Sign me up!

I originally wanted the dialogue-less story to win, but I'll still try this regardless. Count me in.

Though I wonder if five viewpoints would be enough to fall under "multiple".

I would count anything more than one as "multiple."

*raises hand* I'm in, though I also want to know how many POVs you need to hit that "multiple" qualifier. Does it mean "at least two", or do you need more than that?

2+ sounds like 'multiple' to me, but if one person starts narrating, and another person picks up where they left off and finishes, is that 'one scene' or would that make me a big fat cheating sack of crap?

That seems like cheating. Not that the two PO Vs have to cover the exact same timeframe, but I think there needs to be a reasonable overlap.
