My Troper Tales Entry Is Being Deleted: Necroflood
Look, I don't want to start an edit war. However, I'm basically being set up and forced into it. On the Pædo Hunt Troper Tales page I posted an entry, only to have it deleted. So I changed it slightly and had it deleted again. This was the entry:
"The new rules on The Escapist are 100% this, banning any discussion. Why? They find it "creepy". Note, they even admit that there's a difference between a pedophile and a child molester, but they don't care. So basically, it's open season if you are someone of a minority they don't like."
So I changed it a bit more. Here:
"The new rules on The Escapist are 100% this, banning any discussion. Why? They find it "creepy". Note, they even admit that there's a difference between a pedophile and a child molester, but they don't care. So basically, it's open season if you are someone of a minority they don't like. My account was deleted for not supporting this action. A user on here with a name that is just the first few letters on the middle row of the keyboard is trying to remove this as well. Why am I adding this part? Because they're taking their Paedo Hunt to TV Tropes now, and trying to make me more of an Unperson than they already did. Plus, I need a bit more of a record that I am not starting an edit war. I am trying to protect my troper tales entry."
I'm paranoid about getting in trouble for edit warring, but this is my Troper Tales entry. Right off the Troper Tales main page it says:
"Warning: Troper Tales may not be exciting, socially acceptable, or true. Please be sensible."
Socially Acceptable. Right there. Yeah, they might not be socially acceptable, but that doesn't mean you delete any support for them off the wiki (that was the first user's (asdfasdf) reasoning). Please help me, I'm tired of being targeted and deleted off of websites just because I don't support mass hate.

Uh, no thanks.
a) There was no Troper Tales page for this until you created it. There was no mass hate going on.
b) While we'd prefer not to host mass hate, we'd also prefer not to appear pro-paedophial, thanks.
c) Continuously adding an entry in after it's been deleted is called 'Edit warring', and is a bannable offense. You take it to the discussion page.
I'm adding the page to the cutlist. A mod will probably stop by soon, let's cross our fingers and hope you don't get banned. (ninja'd on teh cutlist >_>)

Why is it everywhere I go all that happens is I get censored for having a differing opinion? Is not hating someone for what they are so evil now?! Troper Tales are the opinions of the TROPERS! So, basically, you're saying only troper tales entries you like should be allowed? Why is it that everywhere I go seems so opposed to dissenting opinions!?

First of all, from the very same page you quoted yourself:
Got a story about how life came to imitate art? Share it here!
Troper Tales is meant to talk about how your life imitates the trope in question. NOT to share your opinion on it.
Second:
Take note of the pothole. It's not referring to controversial opinions; it's talking about fetishes people may be squicked by.
Third:
When your opinion is pro-pedophile, I think it's fair to remove it, yes. Rule of Cautious Editing Judgement and all.

I really feel like I'm going to puke now. I'm not joking or exaggerating, I really feel like I'm going to puke. This is a story about how my life is imitating the trope in question. You want to say that I can't weigh in on it as well? Well then, better get to work removing every opinion from troper tales. That should be fun. Oh, and funny thing, you just gave ME ammo. Pedophilia is a fetish people are squicked by, and that's why people are trying to delete it. So, that says that it's allowed. Thank you for the help. As for that last part, that's what's making me ill. You seriously just said opinions you don't like should be deleted. Seriously. How do you say that and not think for a moment "Hey, isn't this just mass censorship? And isn't that wrong?"
![]() Away on the wind~
Yeah, no. I'm not even going to respond, not if I'm going to get responses like that.

Basically, my opinion is being deleted because some people don't like it, despite it being completely within the rules. Somehow, people are anti-free speech suddenly. It's kinda weird.
EDIT: Cygan, I was just stating my opinion (again). Sorry if I got a bit angry, but you did say I should be silenced just because you don't like my opinion.

No... I stated that I'd rather not have pro-pedophilia messages on a publicly viewable page where they are likely to draw flame wars and other such troll bait.

It's not really pro-pedophilia unless anything but blind hate is pro-pedophilia. It's anti-reactionary rules and blind hate. Sorry if I can't get behind hating people for who they are.

Here is the thing.
We do not want this on TV Tropes. A site dedicated to cataloguing media and the associated storytelling tricks that may occasionally happen in real life.
We are not a soapbox for you to preach on.

I'm not trying to "preach". I'm trying to tell my real life example. The only reason it seems like I'm preaching is because people refuse to allow me to have a differing opinion. We have a trope for that.

Troper Tales is pretty much just a place to share personal anecdotes for the heck of it.
No it is not.

Ok, I'm officially having trouble telling if you're serious, Cygan Angel. That's the entire point of troper tales. Sharing personal anecdotes for the heck of it. That's the entire point of it!

But... it has it's own problems...
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.

Clevomon, my troper tales entry was originally just about The Escapist and their Paedo Hunt. It's only after I was being censored repeatedly I came here. Thank you for your comment, though.

I addressed this earlier.
Troper Tales is meant to talk about how your life imitates the trope in question.
Relevant example: "I was once caught up in a Pædo Hunt, back when I lived in Illinois. He had his identity hidden, but we found out and drove him out of town."
Irrelevant example: "The new rules on The Escapist are 100% this, banning any discussion. Plus, I need a bit more of a record that I am not starting an edit war. I am trying to protect my troper tales entry."
Do you see the difference?

INUH: So, it's where you share your personal stories. The only reason to is for the hell of it. So he's right. Oh, and we have a page on lolicon. We have a page on various hentais and on lolicon series.

Cygan Angel, that's not even a correct usage of the trope.
![]() Away on the wind~
Probably not. I do not care to read the examples. What I do know is that your entry was not a correct example either- I can tell that from the Trope description.

INUH: I've never heard that rule, but if I remove that last part (only added to try to fight the deletion without starting an edit war) it wouldn't be, as I'd be unknown.
