Well, as long as you use "met" in the same euphemistic sense as "know" in the Bible, I'm sure he managed it somehow.

...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. Many happy returns.
Congratulations!
Not Three Laws compliant.Surprised its had no coverage in this thread actually - OK Cupid redirected all Firefox users to a message saying "please don't use Firefox because this hatemonger is in charge" with links to other browsers, though one could click through the message.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. That whole kerfuffle just felt weird to me. You'd figure it would be the proprietors of a site like OK Cupid that would be up in arms about gay marriage or gay use of the site, while Mozilla's boss would be in favor. Weird world.
I was hoping Eich would resign soon. I'd rather not have sites blocking my preferred browser out of moral opposition like OKC did.
Why would they be against it? As a dating site, being in favour of same-sex relationships means more business for them.
They didn't block access, the message could be clicked through (and presumably avoided out right by using, ironically, javascript).
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Every business could make more money if they let LGBT people shop there. It never stopped any of them from being discriminatory for no reason.
Whether OK Cupid's protest specifically caused the resignation or merely contributed to the media environment that prompted it is less important than the fact that a major company's CEO was forced to resign over their stance on LGBT rights — a significant victory for the campaign to make it socially, politically, and economically unacceptable to be a homophobe.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Cue the homophobes crying because their new martyr was bullied by the existence of LGBT people.
I don't disagree that the potential exists, but I would suggest that given that these sort of relationships already exist without any formal recognition that granting legal recognition to polygamous relationships would have the opposite effect. By recognising the relationships, that in turn gives the participants in these relationships access to legal options that currently exist for those in monogamous couples (alimony, custody, child support etc) rather than being trapped because of the lack of legal recognition as they are now, thus curbing those sorts of abuses.
Edit: And congrats to Polarstern.

Kostya - Yes, but as a dating site, OKC have a lot to specifically and directly gain from being open to gay clients - entire markets focussed around them. That's very much different from a business who may happen to benefit from the good will of the LGBT community, so it would be completely counter intuitive to their business model to be anything but gay friendly. Ogodei suggested that it would be expected that OKC would oppose gay marriage, but I can't see the logic.

My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.I don't know, someone who is focused on getting people married might be more into the sanctity of marriage and thus have an issue with gay marriage? I'm just saying if one of the two parties was to be against gay marriage, i'd pit the dating executive versus the tech executive.
Nicely done Polar! Now be honest...did you cry?
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.
Bet he did. Kings tend to be able to make time for these things
