Wasn't that just a hack of the arcade version?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. It is a hack?? seems more like a emulation of the Taito X-2 engine to me
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Why have English when Engrish is so much better?
After 20 or so odd years, I can't possibly fathom an SNK game with proper English.
Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.Don't get me wrong, I'd like there to be dual voice tracks.
But seriously, Johnny Yong Bosch needs to voice Kyo at some point.

I sure said that!SNK might have been infamous for Engrish back in the day, but I'd rather not have any serious moments ruined by shoddy translations. We're no longer in the 90s, after all. If they can stick with how their translations have been roughly since the turn of the century (or, even better, the period since KOF 2003), that'd be fine. Besides, there's always Terry as a consolation prize.
Since MI2 did have dual-voice tracks, it would be good if they did work on an English localization for more of the main titles. Of course, they need to actually hire some competent VAs. Most of the guys they bring in sound... ill-fitting for the characters, to put it lightly.
I just can't see JYB as Kyo (in that same vein, I really don't think he was the best choice for Zero in MvC3). I have nothing against him, really, but I don't think the guy who voiced Ichigo and Lelouch is a good fit for Kyo.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadHe can play a little more low-key- He's been both Yu Narukami and Tohru Adachi, as well.
But yeah, like I said, Atlus very rarely turns in a bad English voice track, so I was sad to see that they didn't really try to get one in for XIII.
I sure said that!Hm... maybe. I'm not saying he'd do a bad job if he landed the hypothetical role, I just think that there's better choices out there, y'know?
If anything, I do agree with the sentiment that KOF could use a decent English dub for once. And this is why I'd love to be a VA, since I'm fairly confident I could pull off Kyo, K', Terry, Kim, and/or Geese.
Sort of necro-ing this thread. This is old (and I haven't dusted off XIII in a while, so I have no idea if this still exists), but Duo Lon's blowback (CD) hitbox has enough forward motion to allow him to setup a crossup.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadMe and a friend did a piece on the Neo Geo for SNKo De Mayo.
Check out our cheesy ass video.
PS. I hollered at that second topic a while back, so there's no need to holler again.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.@ X 2 X
"Given that XIII's intro states the game takes place in 2010 and this story would be set in 2012 (one year skip due to my premonition that XIV will be a true Dream Match Game), their kid would only be about 11 at the time of this story (unless genetic manipulation from all of the NESTS technology causes irregular age "burps")."
I always thought that the "It's 2010" thing was a fourth wall-breaking thing, with the year stating when the game comes out.
Also, how come SNK didn't take a page from Banpresto and make a King of Fighters Original Generation series, where all plots are the same, minus the Fatal Fury, Art Of Fighting, Ikari Warriors, Psycho Soldier, Buriki One, and other characters from SNK's other I Ps, and presto.
For plot, I'll start with the plot of Original Generation '94's plot first.
Rugal hosts the tournament in this one, though there will be Early-Bird Cameos, like Iori, The New Faces Team/Orochi Team, etc.
As for teams:
Japan Team will be Kyo, Benimaru, and Daimon
America Team will still be Lucky, Heavy D, and Brian.
Italy Team will have to be new characters, maybe the New Faces Team entering to gun for Iori for wiping the floor with them musically, though in Chris' case, make him 17 or 18.
England Team will have to be with Hinako Shijou, Momoko, and Malin, and as with Chris, make them older.
Mexico Team will have to be Iori and two new characters.
Korea Team will still have Chang and Choi, but with another convict character, recycling the idea of an all-criminal team.
China Team will have to be new characters too.
Brazil Team will have to Heidern, Leona, and a new character, though Heidern's mercenary outfit shouldn't be called Ikari Warriors.
What does anyone think?
Hello, anyone there, please respond?

Eh, part of the main draw of the KOF series is seeing various characters from other famous SNK series get into the ring with each other. Besides, there's no way they'd have the budget to work on a normal KOF series and KOF OG at the same time.
Also, for some reason, I have the smallest inklings of a saga idea that involves Nameless and NESTS!Kusanagi being made canon. Is this a bad idea?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I don't see how- Nameless is pretty cool, at least, and Kusanagi could always be extrapolated upon.
I sure said that!Well, the only thing I've really managed to think up would be the effective "Hero" Team of the saga - Kusanagi. Nameless, and Angel - and am still trying to figure out what would bring them together and motivate their entry into KOF. Got some thoughts regarding NESTS!Kusanagi (mainly regarding gameplay rather than story), but that's about it.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. There's nothing heroic about Angel. How is she a hero?
Point taken. Problem is, I was thinking of having the "Hero" Team being more of a "Remnants of NESTS" Team, but all other characters tied to the group are either confirmed dead, shown in other games affiliated with other characters, or other Kyo clones, which I kinda want to avoid, since 3 different Kyo-types would probably be too much for one saga.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Played XIII again after almost a year of letting it collect dust.
I'm starting to get the hang of combos slightly better than I did last time. Still hard as hell though. Used to play Terry a lot back then, but a quick visit to the Trials mode narrowed my mains down to King, Iori and Takuma.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiThe first KOF I played was '98 and it's still my favourite. I tried the pre-'96 (koko desu ka?) but they seemed...slower. I tried the Nests Saga. Briefly despised Kyo's DM (d+f x2 + p) change from his post-'95 version (which was retained in Kyo-2 I think). Despised the pre-'96 version even more since they kept that one as Kusanagi (shitty moves; I prefer fire punch opposed to ground projectile). Despised even more when his new (d+f x2 + p) DM from '99 to 2000 got removed. Though it could just be nostalgia.
What was in your right hand is hope; And in another hand is something else to fade.XI still has the best Kyo ever- Fire punch chains AND the projectile! Yay!
I sure said that!I finally got King Of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match. Just as good as I expected. This stupid thing may have been the hardest game for me to find yet. D:
I had to settle for a copy in a paper sleeve!
It works just fine, thankfully. I finally managed to learn the awesomeness that is Krauser!
I sure said that!I'm more of a Rugal fan myself. Shame there's no online or anything or else I would take you down Pulse! >:D
Not too sure who else to fill the team with. I did always like Blue Mary and Heavy-D!...
I like Kasumi and Leona, too.
I sure said that! One think that irks me is the fact that they removed Orochi's glow effect from KOF 97. I thought that made him look cooler. :(
Still minor detail.
Eh. If it means he can crouch, then fine.
I sure said that!
Y'know, thinking about it...
I kinda wish XIII had an English voice track. I mean, yeah, the series has had major issues with that in the past, but Atlus wasn't publishing the games before, and they always get good results.
