[insert quip here]NGBC was just bad in general when it came to bosses. Mizuchi and King Lion were probably the worst of the bunch, although Dio was no slouch either. I don't recall Goodman giving me too much trouble, though.
I thought Neo Dio was the easiest, and actually pretty fun as far as SNK bosses go. Helped he had a cool theme. Goodman was really spammy and annoying but not as hard as Mizuchi or Lion. Tougher than Neo Dio though.

Comes a new challenger!Exactly my feeling. Specially about Goodman's Spam Attack
Just go for it!
Playeg 2002 UM today and wow I kind of miss Heidern. He was badass. STORM BRINGGAAAH! I love his spinning move. I never realized before how cool Lin was too. He's kind of unpopular but I think he's pretty neat and fun to use. I like his moves.
[insert quip here]Yeah, it'd be nice to see Heidern ("Go to... HELL!") back again. Personally, I'd like to see a Heidern/Leona/Whip team. The only time he's been on a mission with his daughter before was... 2001. As for Lin, him coming back depends on whether or not SNK decides to do the obvious thing and bring Ron into spotlight as the next Big Bad. But instead watch them bring in another new protagonist and another new plot arc, leaving threads from back as early as 1999 still languishing in obscurity.

Really coolTo be fair, it makes sense to keep Heidern and Leona out of the same game from a meta perspective, since the two share a playstyle and a number of moves- They're not identical by any means, but certainly quite similar. Of course, what I'd really love to see is a canon Masters Team, since the crossover formula doesn't get used quite often enough for team members.

[insert quip here]'98 or 2002UM incarnation? (I'd personally go with the former, or maybe have something like Takuma/Saisyu/Lee.)
Really coolFrankly, Heidern's Crazy-Prepared. I can easily imagine him having the numbers of two other guys around his age who happen to be awesome martial artists, because everything important happens in martial arts tournaments. I'd vote for Takuma and perhaps either Tung or Lee, yeah.
[insert quip here]Heidern confirmed for ultimate Chessmaster status.
Wow Yamazaki's HSDM in 2002UM is awesome. Yamazaki period is awesome. His VA does a great job. I like the other costume with just the black muscle shirt more though. Makes him feel more thuggish. Yet, they gave us Hwa Jai in KOF 13. Hwa. Freakin. Jai.

The Bad GuyDid someone say Neo Dio? Oh man, past trauma of facing him in World Heroes 2 for the first time resurfacing. Seriously, Dio was pretty scary back then. Made mincemeat outta my Captain Kidd and Fuuma...
[insert quip here]It fits his insanity well, but I don't think it's anything special. Conversely, I prefer the full vest a bit more. And keep in mind that Hwa Jai was supposed to be in XII. He's there to fill out the Kim Team alongside Raiden, who also was from the original FF (and had former connections to Geese, hence how the rehabilitation thing could be applied to them). I didn't think it was that great a choice either, but you have to at least understand why it happened.
Guess that makes sense. How would you guys rank the major KOF villains from favorite to least favorite? I'm not including Geese or Kain since they're more Fatal Fury major villains. For me it goes: Rugal > Goenitz > Krizilad > Igniz > Makai > Duke > Original Zero > Clone Zero > Orochi > Magaki > Jivatma > Saiki Saiki was such a disappointment. Jivatma is actually the dumbest concept wise(ALIIIENNNSZ) but considering the buildup Saiki had he just ended up coming off as meh. Orochi suffered from this as well to be fair but Saiki just...bleh.
Really coolOrochi's a total asshole in '98 UM. He's still not as bad as Goentiz or Omega Rugal, but he's way, WAAAAAAY smarter than ever before. I used to not like Loveable Igniz much... Then '02 UM came out, and he got THIS:
Brutal God Project is one of my favorite moves in the entire KOF franchise. His max2 is neat too. Igniz rocks. I still don't like Clone Zero due to being a massive narmball but his 2002UM theme is pretty cool.
[insert quip here]I don't have an exact order for the KOF bosses, but Krizalid and Goenitz are up there, partially due to their themes. Cheap? Undoubtedly. Goenitz had his infamous Yonokaze spam and Krizalid is so broken (thanks in part to
Krizzy ain't so bad in ultimate match, Him and Original Zero are the only bosses I can beat with a non-boss character so that I can get to Omega Rugal. Lol oh wow.

[insert quip here]Admittedly, as cheap as the A.I. of an SNK Boss can be, the player can be, depending on the character in question, be much, much worse. Krizalid is one of those characters. And back in '99, I'd definitely argue that Krizalid was at least on par with '94!Rugal and Igniz, if not worse. Typhoon Rage juggle shenanigans that out-prioritized everything (all the while filling up his super bar absurdly fast), a command throw that hits as both an AA and an overhead... Couple that with the rest of his moveset and there's a good reason the developers actually apologized for creating Krizalid.
The Chew Toy of GamingWait... Galactica Phantom was a special move in 2001? What the hell was Eolith thinking?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.
[insert quip here]Actually, it was a special in EX2 as well, so Eolith probably just followed SNK's lead.
[insert quip here](checks dates) Ok, yeah, it was. That being said, it's still Galactica Phantom and it lost (some of) its notorious power as a trade-off for not costing stock. Also, this is a thing.
