Sounds in games are overlooked.:
Perhaps in other media as well, but I truly think that sounds are being overlooked in providing a full sensory experience. I'm not precisely sure why I'm saying this. Perhaps it had something to do with me remembering Freespace 2 just now, how great the voice acting was, and the thrill of hearing "Incoming jump signature, hostile configuration" and then a cruiser popping out of nowhere and charging anti-cap beams. Looking back on it now, it was so good that I can even forgive or overlook the fact that sound doesn't really travel through space, and I'm a bit of a stickler for that kind of detail.
