Archer:

I've been catching up with the antics of totally-not-James-Bond secret agent Archer through five.tv's catch-up service. It's on one of those freeview channels you didn't know existed in the UK but the channel five website allows one to catch up with all channels produce under "5".

So far my reaction has consisted entirely of chortling. The characters are all arseholes but they've got the intelligence and charisma to be proper dicks to each other and screw each other over in funny ways and stay true to the 60s spy parody.

It reminds me of something but I don't know what. It's the "all these characters are despicable in odd ways" thing.

And god, I love the animation design. It makes the show genuinely feel like it would if they actually had the budget to make a live action spy show parody with snowmobile races and things blowing up.

This show is pure awesome.

Wow, kinda surprised this is that dead.

Anyway, who's keeping up with season 3? I'm certain that by the end of this season, Ray will become a villain. Given the tone of the show, I'm surprised it didn't happen within an episode or two of his injuries. All he needs is a fluffy white cat. Though this week he seems to have lost his eye patch. Glass eye?
Either Ray will become a villain (Dukes!), or he will go undercover as a shopping cart.

I'm still forlornly waiting for season TWO to become available on Netflix. GRUMBLE.

This so is so win and with continuty. Any show with continuty is instantly better by half a letter grade.

I've been getting into Arrested Development recently, and realized the mom was Jessica Walters, who plays Mallory Archer. Mallory is basically the same character, only in charge of an espionage organization.

I can also see Archer (and Cyril...) being part of the Bluth family.

So, they didn't go anywhere with Ray's injuries this season, except take them away when they got inconvenient and then re-paralyze him. Bit of a disappointment.

[up][up]Yeah, and Cheryl/Carol is voiced by Judy Greer—a.k.a. Kitty, Papa Bluth's secretary. Jeffrey Tambor & David Cross have also done some Archer guest spots.

Hm. I remember David Cross's role. Trying to remember who Jeffrey Tambor was, but those two are both at the point where I don't really associate them with anything anymore, since they're in so many things.
[up]Jeffrey Tambor is the voice of the head of ODIN.

That's right. He was the one who got lobotomized with a botched mind control chip installation, right?
I tried to like it but I don't know for some reason or another I just couldn't get into it. Which is weird because I like Adam Reed's other shows like Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo.

You weren't trying hard enough.

While looking up episodes for this season, I was surprised to find that Adam Reed has written or co-written every episode, and I think also directed all or nearly all of them. That's a level of creator involvement I didn't think existed in America.

Started watching this show from the beginning and just finished Season 1.

It's pretty funny though Archer's voice is kinda distracting. I can't hear him speak without thinking of Coach McGuirk.

Any child can follow rules. True adulthood is knowing which ones to break and when.

Haha holy crap, I completely forgot about that. Isn't he in some other series as well? Bob's Burgers?

Yes he is. Fox ran bumpers featuring Archer during Animation Domination on the night that Bob's Burgers premeired. Archer announced the shows while stealing a diamond, and commented to Lana that Bob has a powerful, manly voice.

He's also half a dozen characters on WordGirl. There is no cross-pollination.
I got this.
It's all great. My favourite episode is Skytanic just because of Archer not getting at all about the helium/hydrogen thing. 'LANA NO! YOU'LL KILL US ALL!' and 'Do you think I'd bring a gun on this deathtrap?'. Brilliant stuff. There's also the good part in Skorpio where Archer is being attacked underwater and he just gets so... owned by the scuba divers (Even though his voice is muffled his reaction is just funny.'

Then he takes them all out in a minute, in AWESOME 'This is so annoying'.

"Und so Kurt gets a curb party."

This show is so underrated.

IOU one title
Archer's coming back in January, though I'd say FX is trting its hardest to make sure no one knows that.
I just looked it up on Wikipedia because I was tidying my Hulu subscriptions and found Archer uselessly sitting there. I don't think Hulu ever even had season 2. Now it just has clips and promos.

Poor Hulu, they're trying so hard to let us know it's not their fault. "FX Networks has decided not to stream the current season of Archer.New episodes are not available at this time. We currently don't have the rights to make this show available on your TV or mobile devices"

Season 4 premieres on the 17th on FX.

Apparently there's a Bob's Burgers crossover this season.

Wikipedia also mentions that Archer won an award for "Best Show You're Not Watching". Apparently FX is trying to hold on to that title. Nobody's watching because it's on FX and nowhere else.

I watched a few episodes of this show with my dad and always wanted to get into it, but I kept forgetting.

After hearing that the 4th season is about to start I decided to finally marathon all 3 seasons, and my god is it hilarious.

Only just finished Season 1, but I'm ready for more.
Hulu is just poorly implemented in general I feel.
Violence isn't the answer. Violence is the question and the answer is yes.
I'm convinced it's because they're owned by companies that have decided that the internet is going to kill them if they don't kill it first. Therefore they don't give Hulu's rights acquisition people the muscle they need.

FX is being supremely stupid about Hulu, and it's a sister company (FX owned by Fox, Hulu co-owned by Fox)
