Picture could be improved: Your Head A Splode

I think we could do better here. While the pic certainly shows the aftermath well, I think a pic of the head in the process of exploding might work better.

I like the Scanners one better than the video game one.

Another vote for putting the Scanners pic back up. It's iconic.

The current image does a pretty good job of illustrating the trope, but the Scanners image is both more descriptive and more iconic. So I vote for that one.

One more bump...the Scanners pic was put back on the page a coupla weeks ago, is everyone alright with the current caption or do we want to switch it with something from this thread?

The current Scanners pic is (albeit justifiably) A Bloody Mess. Not exactly the most family-friendly headshot out there, yes? I like the sign proposal from OP.

Agree with the sign; the current pic is arguably NSFW.

I tried looking up duplicates of the sign image, but all I found were the head-exploding part, minus the body below it. (If all else fails I could probably just trace and vector it....)

If we're going to switch to the headbanging diagram, then shrinking it a bit and cropping it at, say, elbow level wouldn't hurt anything.

People are gonna think whoever replaced the Scanners image is a wimp if you do that.

Well, let them; that's what forums and PM are for.

The Scanners image is seriously not THAT work-unsafe. Considering how the guy's hand is balled into a fist and his posture suggests "GRRRRR ANGRY!", it's sufficiently over-the-top as to be cartoonishly hilarious, if darkly so (there's a "Scanner Darkly" joke in there for anyone who wants to make it). A close-up image of Kennedy's assassination would be another story, but this is harmless.

Plus, c'mon, the page title is Your Head A-Splode. You CANNOT tell me people are coming to this page without at least an inkling of what to expect.

I always thought "What? It was obvious!" as the page caption was clever, considering, well, it's rather obvious that "Your Head Asplode" would feature a head exploding, and the fact that while "How's he going to get the blood out of his suit?" is silly, it's not really a defining quote. That could have been thought of in a second, the former comes from the video every fan of the internet has seen, and is also at the reaction of a head exploding. Or maybe we could just put a link of the caption to link to the head explosion from scanners on You Tube Repeat.
