Second chances? That could go a lot of ways if people think hard enough about it.
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestA ghost story?
Your childhood secret coming back to haunt you?
Messing with gender expectations?
I could rethrow in my proposals for last year's. At least one of them was considered "interesting", although I admit they were kinda pretty specific and turnabout.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?I like all these suggestions except ghosts—fun but likely to lead to a lot of similar stories.
My idea was "encountering something new."
I can write stories for all of the prompts so far. They vary in the whole drama / comedy scale with chihuahua's prompt being firmly on the comedy side, and snowfoxofdeath's prompt being firmly on the drama side.
My prompt: Something valuable goes missing.
Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.Fiction blending with reality?
What do you mean with that. A lot of postmodernism and breaking the fourth wall or just a story about someone who finds a book (for example) and what he reads in it happens the next day. I think the latter would be better.
If any question why we died/ Tell them, because our fathers lied -Rudyard KiplingYes. Or you might have a writer with his magical word processor; anything he types in there and saves becomes reality the next five minutes. A paintbrush which can paint a bridge and a glass city. I see loads of possibilities with this idea.
It will be interesting, that for sure.

If any question why we died/ Tell them, because our fathers lied -Rudyard KiplingOoo...I would do a Coming of Age story.
Perhaps have more than one prompt to choose from?
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~
I hope I will actually write a story for this!
^^ You ninja.
But yeah, it would be nice to be able to pick from 2-3. Too much more than that and we might as well not have a prompt at all.

Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestI think one wide-reaching topic works better than multiple choice. Ties the entries together more, allows variety, forces creativity.
I like An Aesop best of the ones proposed so far.
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEWrite a zombie story that takes place before the Industrial Revolution.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchHmmm... outbreak of disease? A loved one who Came Back Wrong somehow? Inverting traditional expectations (whatever those may be)?
I like the messing with gender expectations - that I definitely want to write.
may I ask when is the next conest?. I am very eger to reedem myself.

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.IF we're having An Aesop I'm spoofing the hell out of it.

Crown Description:
What topic/prompt do you want for the next writing contest?
Not announcing, just asking. Methinks "dreams" was a mite too narrow—we ended up with a lot of vaguely similar entries. The "now and then" theme turned out a really nice variety of stories.
