Meh, thats just their excuse for the bombing, they could have used "I saw a cloud the shape of a bomb." as an excuse.
Is it just me, or is the world turning to crap in rapid-order?
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Nah. Its relatively stable compared to in the good ol days of a couple hundred years ago. It just appears like everything is going to hell because its been relatively calm in america/western europe for a few decades.

^ Well the world's been due for such widespread large scale chaos for decades.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."^The world is never due for a round of chaos. Humans decide that chaos should occur.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.^^pretty much. Its a cyclical thing. But saying the world is far worse now that even before is generally a sign you havent read much history. The current unrest is NOTHI Ng compared to say, the world wars, or the dark ages. or the mongol invasion of europe on the "OH FFFF" scale.

Or, hell, the Trojan War, the Roman times, the human-neanderthal war (if our ancient legends are anything to go by), etc.
I actually think we are at an upturn.
This chaos is for a REASON, its people fighting against their oppression instead of living silently in hell.
Its a violent process but I think theres a real chance for change for the better.
I wouldn't be surprised if people started using this as a reason why we shouldn't have killed Summer Bin Ladels Bin Laden. Ignoring, of course, the fact that he was still actively doing that terrorist thing anyway.
They would have done this regardless of Bin Laden's status.
This is just their current justification of the week.
Its kind of like gas prices. They'll raise them no matter what, but come up with some lousy excuse about whatever event is going on.
Precisely.
Thorn: I admire your optimism. Humans like to repeat history however. This would not be the first time such unrest has preceded large scale wars.
Who watches the watchmen?First World War comes to mind.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Second World War, and so many wars we need massive tomes to record them.
Who watches the watchmen?
Its not optimism, its just me believing that these people were gonna be violent no matter what.
Osama's death didn't spark jack. The people who are supposedly pissed about this were already pissed anyway.

@Tuefel: thats true, but my point is that overall, humanity is far less violent and murderous than in ages past. people who insist otherwise know very sanitized versions of historical fact
@midgetsnowman; We should create a different thread for this to avoid derailing this one.
We have two nations in the Middle East sizing each other up possibly for a fight. Iran Vs Saudia Arabia. No military action as of yet but they have been showing their teeth and rattling sabers plenty.
Al Qaeda will still do assholish things your right. They will use the death of Osama as an excuse to continue to do so. But we have yet to see how this will all settle and there is likely to be even more violence and possibly war by the time it is all said and done.
Who watches the watchmen?Iran and Saudi Arabia: That'll be ugly. Why would they square off against each other at all?
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Horribly pragmatic though this sounds, there are only a few countries with the capacity to wreak nuclear devastation on the entire world. None of them are going to do it. Places like Pakistan, North Korea and Iran don't have the capacity to destroy more than a few cities before they're nuked into dust. World war is over. It won't happen again until technology shifts dramatically.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.^^ Really long running rivalry. The Iranians and Saudis have never been friends. The Iranian nuclear dispute has been a bit of a tipping point towards the current situation.

This can't be good. Especially since the Supreme Court HATES Zardari and won't do anything against the Army...
Final Fantasy, Foreign Policy, and Bollywood. Helluva combo, that...^^Plus the whole Sunni-Shi'ite thing. That plays into this big time.

80 dead in Pakistan over Osama Bin Laden. Pakistani Taliban claim responsibility. The dead were mostly Pakistani paramilitary police recruits.
