What was wrong with the boss battles? They were better than the ones in most games.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541The Boss battles in Rayman 1 were okay, if not a bit strange. Seriously, Space Mama?
And Rayman isn't strange normally?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I know, but Space Mama was especially strange.
I remember playing Rayman 1 and getting to the third level or something of Band Land before my lives failed me.
I remember 100%ing Rayman 2. The Iron Mountains were really cool.
Other than that, I don't have much experience with Rayman, but I bought this game anyway since I heard it was good but wasn't doing well.

Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Probably my favorite track.
I owned Rayman 2 on the N64, but never got far on it due to it my not having a controller pak. Later, I did get one, but I then stopped playing it because I accidentally got the Bad Ending in The Cave of Bad Dreams (WTF is the cursor automatically over the "incorrect" option? Why do they not have you confirm it?), and that frustrated me to insane levels and also traumatized me. I couldn't touch the game for like seven years, because that bothered me so much. I later got the DS remake of that game, but I haven't actually beaten it.
But I owned, and also beat, the Game Boy Color Gaiden Game.
I never played the third one though, despite my interest in it, so this is really as far as my experience goes.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~Madrugada@Freezair: You want to play the 3rd Rayman? Well, it's being rereleased on Xbox Live and the PSN store in a few months, ala Beyond Good & Evil HD, so you're in luck.
Also, which Gameboy color game? There were two, one based off of the first game and one based off of the second game. I have the first game one.

I wish this was on PC.
My only other option is Wii.
How do the Wii controls work? Is it better (or even compatible) with the classic controller?
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."It'd probably be easier for me to just track down a GC copy, since I don't actually own an X Box, I just pilfer it from a friend.
...There was a Rayman GBC game based on the second game? *checks Game FA Qs* Huh. Apparently there was. I don't believe I've ever actually seen a physical copy of it. But no, this was the first one.
Now I'm getting all nostalgic for it. I was about to say I could probably find a cheap copy of it somewhere, but then I remembered: It's actually a decently rare GBC game, isn't it?
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI can tell you right now that the Wii version doesn't have motion controls. It's basically a straight port of the other versions, without online multiplayer of course.
It's official. The ninth tooth is a monster that hates all ounces of fun. The easy teeth in the past few worlds were just to lure me into a false sense of security.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. My least favorite tooth so far would probably be the fourth tooth. Probably because it seemed to me like a few of the opening cannonballs would sometimes screw up, and obliterate platforms in the wrong order or with the wrong timing. The fifth tooth was annoying too, but more for that segment near the end with the water where you've got to be a demon in controlling your momentum. It was actually pretty short, or so it felt, so it ended up not being too much of a problem.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI didn't really have much trouble with five. Four was troublesome, though, I have to admit. Anyway, 9 teeth down. Just got to go through the final area, collect the last tooth and see what the Land of the Livid Dead has to offer.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.Rayman 3 is on GOG.com
DumboSo is it just me, or was Murray the easiest boss, despite being the "last" of the normal bosses? ( Well, OK, you can do the four spin-off worlds in any order, but if you do them in the same order as the regular worlds, like I did, he's the last.) His attack pattern is a lot simpler and there's far less to have to avoid, not to mention it's slower. I beat him a lot faster than any of the others.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI heard that there's a 3DS version coming out soon. I missed out on the console version, and as much as I'd like to buy that, a version that I can play on the toilet or in the car is a must-buy.
There's apparently also a Play Station Vita version in the works.
Yeah, I had much less problems with him than with everyone else as well. I think the most troublesome boss was the first one, really. Just couldn't get his pattern down.
I guess we could go... wherever we please. Will be buying the 3DS version as well.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!I don't have a 3DS, but it'll be interesting to see how they handle that.
Also: Holy crap, Moody Clouds is hard as balls. That third level, Mecha Something-Or-Other? Repeated. Cannings. To. The. Face. Curse those tiny robots!
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI ordered the Wii version. Should be here in a week or two.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI feel your pain, Freezair, I really do. The final world makes me want to punch kittens out of frustration.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.
I love the music in the cage rooms. It almost makes me sad to defeat the baddies, because the music is so killer. D:
I think my favorite music in the game so far is the stuff in Gourmand Land. The stuff in the ice levels is crazy chill (pun not intended), it's smooth and jazzy and I still can't get enough of the way it uses clinking glasses and pouring liquids as instrumental effects. And the fiery levels... do I even have to say it?
But I think the doo-woppy piece the Lums sing in the ocean levels is pretty great. It just makes me smile like a madwoman.
I'm pretty sure this is good "Robot Test" music.
