Adamant made a fist and concentrated on forming an axe head out of his hand, sending metal into his arms, so he chop through a door. As he did so he could the growing sound of sirens.

I can't breathe in this
John immediately got to work. Teleporting may have seemed like a good idea at first, but the falling debris might crush him if he teleported at the wrong time. It was clear that John would have to run through the place as quickly as possible. A feat made nearly impossible by the black smoke and heat. Still, there were people that needed saving and by god would he save them.

Adamant chopped through the door with the axe he had created, turning away a bit as fire burst through the hole he made. He checked the room and saw a man on the floor with some blood dripping from his head. It was hard to tell if the officer was unconscious or dead, but if Adamant didn't do something then the fire would take him.
Using his axe he widened the hole, while tearing some parts with his other hand, and squeezed through. He then casually pushed aside a desk and went ahead to check on the guy.
