I sincerely hope you guys don't follow Quagmire's example and card the girl's you're having relations with.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenKind of felt incomplete. I was thinking the rest of the episode would focus on Quagmire's relationship with his Mom falling out somehow and things returning to status quo. But the episode then ended.
I agree. The Justin thing took up way too much of the episode.

Simpsons does segway from initial concept to actual plot a lot more cleanly, on average.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Family Guy actually does an okay job of that most of the time too. This episode was just the exception to the rule.

Off topic, but what in the world happened to the music in this show? The songs were typically the best part, yet I haven't heard a peep of melody since 09
I haven't been watching the show, so maybe I missed it?

Supports cartoons being cartoony!Maybe it has to do with Walter Murphy. Has he been on the crew recently?
Didn't have the legal budget for more songs?

"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenYou have. Just last season, there was a hilarious musical number about white people.
Well, the promotion for tonight's episode says Family Guy has gone too far. I bet you half the population of the U.S. and A. will be complaining about it the minute it's over.
Also - I might be the only one who gets the reference in the episode title.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."You're probably right about that but I thought this episode was hilarious.
Haven't watched an episode of this show in a while. No surprise that Stewie and Brian continue to be the worst characters in many many different ways.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! From the clips I've seen on You Tube, this episode looks like it'll be pretty funny. Weird.
Supports cartoons being cartoony!"Promotion" from where?
I was surprised they let the word abortion be said several times in the show. But what was most shocking to me was that Brian and Stewie didn't form any attachment to the babies. When 3 of them died, they just discarded the bodies into the trash can, and implied to have left the other 4 in a pet center. .... where they'll probably die as well.
The ad I saw on Fox right before the show proclaimed that Family Guy had gone too far, so there y'are.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I was a bit surprised by that too. I figured they would all die in the end but I thought it might turn into a semi-touching moment or something. Still, like I said before, I found the episode hilarious overall.
Eh it's a sitcom so it always has to reset everything to the status quo no matter how bad it looks.
I'm pretty sure that I remember a bunch of people on another thread (don't remember which one anymore) freaking out and assuming that Stewie and Brian would conceive the traditional way. And I'm pretty sure that I assured said people that Stewie would most likely extract Brian's DNA.
This episode worked because it was so over the top and crossed so many lines. I enjoyed this twist on The Baby Trap and Babies Make Everything Better tropes. Stewie's photo shoot was pure gold.
Also, Peter did a thing. ... I didn't care about his side story.
I'm sorry if I am derailing this topic, but I have a complaint about the episode "And I'm Joyce Kinney" and the aesops. What I hated about this episode was how we're supposed to feel sorry for Lois because she was exposed as a porn star by Joyce.
Yes what Joyce did was Disproportionate Retribution, but Lois is no saint and she is a terrible person and an unlikable character. She's so unlikable that it's hard to sympathize with her, even when she's not being a bitch and she's actually right.
I don't blame Joyce for not accepting Lois' apology. What Lois did was terrible, and bullying can traumatize people and ruin their self esteem for years, which may be why Joyce held a grudge for so long. As a victim of bullying myself, I understand EXACTLY how Joyce (and Meg) feel and what she went through. I wish I could get revenge on my former bullies even though they really deserve it, but I'm an adult now.
Another thing: I don't hate Family Guy as much as I used to. I'm not a big fan, but I don't hate it either.

I don't follow the show anymore, but caught a re-run tonight while waiting for something / doing other things of "Life of Brian." I came on here to look at the Wallbangers and the DMOS...
... And am glad that someone besides me noticed the truly over the top racism in the episode. I mean, everyone talks about that episode for what happened to Brian, but finally I saw an addition to the DMOS page that finally addressed the thing that bothered me.
I didn't feel for Brian's death. I mean, he used to be my favorite character on the show in the early seasons, then his know-it-all preachiness (and his being in love with himself over his bad novel) just kind of "already killed him" for me. It was an obvious obnoxious ratings-grab. It was pretty ho-hum. But the first part of it, the Every Native American Sterotype Ever followed by a pinch of anti-Semitism, and yes, the random purse-flinging Black woman.... that's what made my jaw drop.
The whole opening sequence has me convinced that the writers knew that they had jokes that even this show couldn't get away with unless said bigotry was paired with something so dramatic that people would forget about it (in this case, a gory, dying Brian).
In which I attempt to be a writer. The entire point of poking fun at stereotypes (and yes, that IS what the show is doing) is to do it in the most over-the-top fashion possible.
I want to mention a little something about the character of Vinny. Some people have commented that he is a stereotype.
I live in Rhode Island. I spend a lot of time in Providence, which has a large Italian population.
Some of the aspects of his character are dead on.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
20 years is harsh even as an accidental cause of statutory rape.
Hell, there are even cases of celebrities accidentally doing a teen by accident. If it weren't for cases of their fake ID's to get in nightclubs then.. ugh.
