This trope name suggests a kind of stock character speech, but it's not an in-character trope. Indeed, the examples seem to suggest that this is subjective, and some of them seem to be capitalizing on the description's ambiguity.

The trope as used here matches how it's used in the Trope Namer Onion article. There's some subjectivity, but entries should be based on general reputation, not on a single person's opinion. It looks like valid reasons are being given for the choices of examples.

I agree with making YMMV. Even though the trope does require a consensus, rather than just one's personal opinion - it's still an Audience Reaction to a creator/creators. Besides, there will be a minority that will disagree with some of the examples.

I would rather repurpose this into the in-universe concept it's misused as. It's honestly more Trivia then anything else right now, not to mention that I don't care for the implied statement that you can only be cool if you're 'edgy'.
