Saw that there wasn't a topic for this so I decided to make one.

New chapter up.

I should probably should get caught up on this series. I got halfway through the Valentines day arc and dropped it.

Bump.

Given Volume 18 just came out here in France, seeing Kyōko's childhood flashbacks gave me some leisure to contemplate one of the (as yet) untold mysteries of Skip-Beat! e.g. Mrs Mogami, and I was wondering what the hell was the job that made her disregard her daughter education. Scientist at NERV, maybe ?

The flashback in question http://www.mangareader.net/117-5389-5/skip-beat/chapter-107.html

wild mass guessMore seriously, given the number of reference books in her room, my money would be on a law-related job - laywer, or a notarial profession (which make her an Amoral Attorney). If not, maybe a businesswoman. Any ideas on that ?

PS: Should we say Mrs or Ms Mogami ? Given the extraordinary length of data we've got on Kyōko's parents, we don't even know if they were married.

PPS: For that matter, given we don't know jack about Kyoko's dad, he might either be

  1. dead (what Kyōko thinks, or at least told Maria)
  2. divorced/left before or soon after Kyōko's birth (and maybe Mom told her he's dead.)
  3. might don't even know he has a daughter he might be someone we know!

PPPS: Well, taking the reflection further, Kyōko might be an in-vitro kid (à la Urumi Kanzaki) though given Mrs Mogami's complete lack of ethusiasm toward parenthood, this is unlikely. Or she could be a orphaned relative (I'm thinking Harry Potter).
