Rename: Ultra Super Death Gorefest Chainsawer 3000

This title is impossible to remember, just as much so as Super Punk Octo Pudding Gas Mark Seven which was renamed ages ago. Wick and inbound count are low for what seems to be a fairly common trope.

Wow, that has a ton of redirects.

I kinda like the Ultra Violence 64 redirect.

But you could prolly just shorten it. Like "Ultra Gorefest Chainsawer 3000" or something.

I was partial to Bloodsoaked Carnage Bros.

Ultra Violence 64 could work, though.

Those redirects pretty much have enough material for the crowner right there.

Does this really need a rename? It's got a ton of redirects which people are free to use, but aren't, and isn't doing badly, though it's not doing great.

Exactly what is the problem that's being solved here?

Yes, this is very much out of process. It's supposed to be self-demonstrating.

Yeah, we need a single prop crowner first, and I'd like to see evidence of misuse since 75 wicks and 213 inbounds count as decent numbers, I can't really support this rename, not without evidence of misuse.

Also, I actually don't think this trope is that common.

I made the crowner, so I take responsibility for it being premature. Sorry, I thought that since Super Punk Octo Pudding Mark Seven was renamed this should be as well, but it looks like I was wrong.

Huh, seems pretty clear people don't want a rename...

I know it's working, but dagnabit is it long and clunky. And far too many redirects.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I know there's quite a few guidelines on when to change a name, and this particular name isn't violating them. (It's not being misused, it's showing good wicks and what-not) Still, I was hoping the ugliness of the name itself would get enough support for the rename. Ah, well.

Names that are long and hard to remember, like this one, fall more under Needs Redirects than Needs A Better Title. In this case, you have plenty of alt-titles to pick from if you don't like or remember the main name.

Another reason I was hoping for a namechange. The current bloated title collects a lot of renames on variations of the name.

Aside from keeping the original, I would have liked a rename to cut down on a lot of them. How many of those redirects are even being used, anyways?

Nobody really made much of an argument for renaming, so I'm not going to upvote to rename a trope with healthy usage.

I will admit that's part of the issue. The main reason for a rename isn't one of the key reasons to rename a trope.

I was hoping the name was so ugly and clunky enough that most people would love to rename it to something simpler. But I see there isn't enough support for such a rename.

EDIT: Holy cow, twice as many people are against the rename as for it? Lordy...

Yep, unlike this name, Super Pudding something or other was unclear as to what it was talking about.

This name, though clunky and ugly, does get the point across.

Well, if there's no consensus on renaming, I'm thinking perhaps purging a few of the redirects. Keep a few of the small ones, but I'm not sure we need several variations of the same name. Since, really, you can search for a few of the key terms and find it just fine.

^ It gets most of the point across. Namely, the emphasis on violence and gore.

What this title doesn't immediately make clear is that it's about fictional portrayals of video games. However, given its wick and referral counts, I'm willing to overlook this, provided it isn't being misused in any way.
