Schadenfreude. Everyones A Little Bit Racist. Hilarious and awesome songs, both of them.
Everything happens for a reason. The reason is a chaotic intersection of chance and the laws of physics.I love "Schadenfreude". That song actually taught me how to spell that word. Yes, I know. I also love "Purpose", in part because it's so damn catchy.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogI've got the sheet music for some of the songs - "What Do You Do With a BA in English?," "I'm Not Wearing Underwear Today," "Fantasies Come True," "I Wish I Could Go Back To College," and "Purpose."
I should learn them sometime...
Fanfiction I hate.I'm a big fan of Everyone's a Little Bit Racist, If You Were Gay, There's a Fine, Fine Line, and Schadenfreude.
On the subject of Tear It Up And Throw It Away:they said it served no plot purpose, hence the deletion, but I could really easily see Lucy The Slut getting a Dark Reprise of it.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...Now I can see it. I never thought of that.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogThere are several reasons a song might be cut from a show, even if it's a good song. Maybe they just can't find a place where it fits in the script, maybe it slows down the action too much, maybe the show runs too long, etc etc.
Fanfiction I hate.Yeah, it's just that I disagree with the official reason that it doesn't fit in the plot. :P
Also, TBH, I have a soft spot for cut songs in general. I've found that I like maybe fifty percent of them and disagree with the deletion of maybe a quarter of them.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...I understand why they cut "Tear It Up And Throw It Away". Seriously, where would it fit? It doesn't relate to the plot.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogUh, I just mentioned it. The events of the song itself aren't very important (but hey, neither is Everyone's A Little Bit Racist) but the premise of the song allows it to easily get a Dark Reprise when Lucy destroys Kate's note to Princeton.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...How can you reprise something that hasn't been sung previously?
Fanfiction I hate. This is kind of a what if "Tear It Up And Throw It Away" was in the show.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogLike, the point is, Tear It Up And Throw It Away would go in the show, kind of early on. It wouldn't have much of a point as in actual events in the song effecting events later on, but it would be reprised by a different character later.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...The word schadenfreude made me find out about this play and i love it.
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.Oh God... they just released the school edition and... Oh my fucking Gooooooooooooood, is it stupid and unnecesarry.
"My Social Life Is Online" replaces TIIFP, and it is perhaps the worst song I have ever heard. The only good thing to come of it is that they actually snuck in something MORE disturbing than the original-Trekkie now makes the money for the school by selling all of his facebook friend's personal info to marketing companies.

I'm automatically wary of school versions since I found out what the school version of Into The Woods is like. they cut the entire second act
But yeah, I listened to a bit of "My Social Life is Online" it's BAD.

my essay blog! Dalton Liveblog"Social Life" is the quietest I have ever heard an audience listening to an Avenue Q song.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...Couldn't get through it.
Guys, you're spoofing Sesame Street, not My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Fanfiction I hate....There's a bad school version of Avenue Q? Man, with the high school RENT edition they just cut "Contact."
Nth-ing Schadenfreude's awesomeness. I love Christmas Eve because she's hilariously stereotypical, and yet she isn't.
If I were in Avenue Q, I want to be either Gary Coleman or Christmas Eve. If I were Gary Coleman I'd get lead in "You can be as loud as the hell you want (When you're making love)," and if I were Eve, I'd get to sing "The More You Ruv Someone."

Go here. I'm pretty sure it mentions what cuts were made. Also, "My Social Life Is Online" is BAD.

my essay blog! Dalton Liveblog^^ I'd totally wanna be Lucy the Slut. Her role isn't my favorite to watch, but out of the girls' stuff her parts are my favorite to sing. And really, playing a slutty puppet would just be fabulous.
I would want to be either Kate or Lucy, because the Kate voice is fun to do, but I also love singing "Special" for whatever reason.
my essay blog! Dalton LiveblogI don't think that there is any role in this play that I deserve to do. I simply don't have the right skills. I could be an okay Brian or maybe a really mediocre Princeton, but... no.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...
Didn't see a thread for this so I thought I'd start one.
I Wish I Could Go Back To College is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard in a musical.
