Bare Feet Means Nakedness could probably get through YKTTW fairly quickly (although the name sounds kinda clunky; "Barefoot Means Naked" might be better?). I'm concerned New Found Foot Fascination might be Too Rare to Trope, though (I can't think of very many instances, anyway).

Foot Sensation Fascination would be slightly broader but with the same idea, as it'd also encompass things like the first time Rapunzel of Tangled steps on grass and the camera focuses on her bare feet.
Assuming we don't really care about literal foot fetish, new-found foot fascination is the same trope as, say, new-found hand fascination, right?

I agree. It's revelling in a new bodypart.

Should I start a YKTTW for Limb-Sensation Fascination later today? I can think of three examples off the top of my head.

Probably.

Only two examples I could think of were The Little Mermaid and Avatar (although I haven't seen the latter, I'm pretty certain it had an example when the main character first gets his alien body, complete with legs, which his human body had lost ages ago). Maybe the aforementioned Tangled example, too, for a not-"holy moley I have legs now" example. However, I'm sure there's more, especially when you broaden it to limbs instead of just legs/feet.

The YKTTW. This is the first trope one I've started; any and all help with the description is appreciated. Four examples so far — thanks for the Avatar one — but I should be able to dig up some more myself as well.
In uffish thought
It's coming along fairly well, having only been in there a few days — around fifteen examples and the description is passable. Question that's come up: Should it encompass feeling emotions for the first time, or stick to exploring physical sensations?

Triple post! Limb-Sensation Fascination has been launched, though it's morphed a bit within YKTTW so it bears little resemblance to Foot Focus. That takes care of New Found Foot Fascination; the only thing left is now Bare Feet Mean Nakedness.

I've got a YKTTW for Low Angle Foot Camera in the works to cover the camera angle of shooting feet and lower legs.

Any more tropes we need? Has someone started Bare Feet Mean Nakedness?

[up]As far as I know, no one started Barefeet Mean Nakedness. As for more tropes we can create, there is character being to shown barefoot to show that they are strange, weird or otherworldly and to show youthfulness and innocence when used for children or childlike characters. Both of those meanings are mentioned on Does Not Like Shoes. A few pages back, there was talk about making a trope when a character who deems themselves superior demands another to kiss their feet or similar to show submission. That seems to be already covered by I Kiss Your Foot but that's broader trope.

I just want us able to cut this one down as soon as possible. I'll start Bare Feet Mean Nakedness, but I think I'll make it a bit broader to Torsoless Nudity. When they just show someone naked's arms, legs, face and shoulders but the camera avoids the torso because that's where the naughty bits are.

Yeah, I think that's the only trope left.

I think Foot Focus should be a redirect to These Tropes Are Made for Walking, since I don't think we have enough tropes about a separate index.

So what's happening to Foot Focus? I was led here from the kinda creepy example on the Series/Frasier page, because I didn't believe what it was describing could possibly be a trope. From the look of it, it used to be but now isn't — is that right?

"Roz's feet get some focus in Season 2's "Roz in the Doghouse", when she sprains her ankle, and spends a lot of the episode barefoot. In one scene, Daphne gives her a foot massage, and in another Bulldog compliments her feet."

Are any of the above examples of any of the newly-split tropes?

Earthly Barefoot Character is an incorrect trope title. It should be Earthy Barefoot Character. "Earthly" means "of or characteristic of the earth as opposed to heaven; material or materialistic; worldly".

It's a one-letter difference, but it's an important one, especially since it almost reverses the intended meaning (i.e., the trope described is used to denote that someone is LESS worldly and materialistic than the rest of us shoe-wearing folk).

[up][up] It's getting redirected to These Tropes Are Made for Walking to become an index. Wicks should be removed, as most aren't a trope. We still have one YKTTW to launch.

[up]Thanks

[up][up]TRS is full, but that trope does need renaming. Reckon we can save time and have that discussion here? (for the record I vote Earthy Barefoot Character)

Bump. We still have two YKTTW. This and the Bare Feet Mean Nakedness one which we still haven't started.

Would Bare Feet Of Nudity be an acceptable name for the latter trope?

Waaaait, I just realised. That would be a bit too close to Dress Hits Floor. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Can we get some votes on whether or not to rename Earthly Barefoot Character to Earthy Barefoot Character?

Dress Hits Floor doesn't require bare feet. It's about seeing the garment slide down the characters body while only seeing their feet. Bare Feet Mean Nudity includes things like: a) a character stepping out of the shower, b) a character running down the street where we only get legs and commentary, c) bare legs walking out and then clothes being pulled up. None of those are Dress Hits Floor.
