I took a film music class, and "Mickey Mousing" is indeed the real term for the trope.
I remember sometimes we'd watch films and cartoons, and the teacher would point out a certain part of the film or cartoon and say that it was Mickey Mousing.

I'm going to stick a note on the discussion page about it being a pre-existing term. This is at least the fourth TRS thread about that trope.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Mickey Mousing is pretty much the textbook example we use for pre-existing terms with relatively obscure sounding names.
Nothing is going to come from a rename request. Redirects Are Free, however, if anyone wants to add a clearer name (apart from the two that are there already).

The title of this trope isn't really very clear. The only way you would get what it means is by reading the definition of the trope on the page. I honestly had no clue what Mickey Mousing was until I read the trope page. One of the redirects is Soundtrack Synchronization which sounds a lot better to me than Mickey Mousing, it's much clearer in what the trope is about and has alliteration to boot.
