Seriously we need a general topic for getting rid of the real life sections in any "hot character" trope.

I support.
this music plays whenever I post also a boxHatchet time.
Axing the Real Life folder and leaving a No Real Life Examples Please tag in the description with a link to TroperTales.Big Beautiful Woman. There we go.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Actually, the troper tales for this page was cut in the big recent troper tales cut and it is now on the Permanent Red Link Club, so I will remove that link from the main page.
I don't really see how there can be "too many" of a type of example. If that's the case, why not simply split the page, instead?
Also perhaps cut out the more obscure examples (ie the celebrity wives) and trim the amount of imagelinks (one image is fine, and why are we linking to forum discussions exactly?).

^ the problem isn't "too many" RL examples, but that those RL examples tend to fall into the type of "people This Troper finds hot", which is not interesting and doesn't prove that the person listed inspires the trope-required reaction more widely.
This.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdHence why I suggested cutting the more obscure examples. The majority of women on the list were either models or pornstars, in which case they would be regarded as BB Ws by more than just the troper who put them there, and presented by the media as being large and beautiful, hence fitting the trope. Don't forget that the trope is about large women who are presented as being beautiful, not just large women that some people happen to find beautiful. Kind of like Meganekko and glasses.

This isn't a YMMV or audience reaction so doesn't really matter how many people other than the troper find said woman attractive. Also fat pornstars and models are presented as BBWs, they, themselves, can not objectively be called BBWs. So any examples featuring a pornstar or model should go under films or magazine or whatever medium they're using to present themselves as a BBW.

That's what I was thinking. Instead of a Real Life section, instead form two other sections "Porn" and "Fashion."
That's actually the way it was originally before someone merged them into a Real Life section.
Because neither porn nor fashion are mediums. Film, Magazines, and Advertisements are all accepted mediums.
Fight smart, not fair.Porn is a type of movie, therefore it is a medium. And if advertisements are a medium, fashion is too, since that's just another form of advertisement.
no
Porn is a genre and fashion is simply a popular trend
A medium is the means used to transfer information.
You do not use porn to transfer porn. You use magazines, films, books etc.... You do not use fashion to transfer fashion you use television, paper ads etc....
We aren't exactly rigid about which mediums that get listed. Pro Wrestling isn't really a medium, and neither is Advertising, strictly speaking.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.good point, but I still don't think we need a separate section for porn or fashion.
The point of this wiki is to catalogue tropes and their uses in media. Categorization nitpicking aside, when a Real Life section threatens to dominate a page, it gets axed. I see no value in listing BBWs in Real Life. It adds nothing you couldn't get by browsing any of scads of sites, most of which are admittedly NSFW.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Plus, like all the other attractiveness tropes (at least if we want to keep them objective), this trope isn't "large woman I think is hot", it's "large woman the creator portrays as hot in-universe", meaning by its nature it can't have real-life examples.
Though the Real Life section was full of natter, I support breaking out a porn section instead of axing it entirely. Tropes in media we don't feel comfortable about are still tropes, and hell, we have a whole index full of Porn Tropes anyways.
I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1Do we have porn sections for any other tittilating tropes? Just seems kind of redundant; it's not like porn makes highly varied use of its genre conventions. "Yeah, they do this a lot in porn" seems like more than enough description and stays within Family Friendly bounds.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"That's a point. We do have (essentially) porn sections on Fetish-Fuel Future and Parallel Porn Titles, but they're kind of exceptions that prove the rule; one is mostly erotic fanfic and the other isn't about anything more explicit than some dirty titles. "This is used a lot in porn" is indeed much more common.
Still, though, we don't even have that on Big Beautiful Woman.
I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1If Porn and Fashion would be unsuitable due to not being standard folders, what about "Advertising: Fashion" and "Film: Pornography?" I've seen that done on a few other pages.
Is there a reason why Advertising - Fashion wouldn't just go under Advertising?
Rhymes with "Protracted."
I'm a watcher of this page and I support what it's about (to an extent, women like Toccara Jones are about as big as I go), but the Real Life section is starting to get out of control. Right now it's longer than any other section and almost as long as the entire rest of the page. It's getting to the point where tropers are posting links to photos or articles about every BBW in existence. How should this resolved? Should I just burn all the Real Life examples except for the few that are about non-Occidental cultural beauty norms and things like that?
