Yeah, he was just cleaning it. The spray can was presumably some sort of solvent.
I'll take a look at it later and see if I can read the kanji.
Still, your point is valid: with all that rust, it really was more of a brown color than red, so the principle stands.
It's been fun.@ Edmania Obviously it's just Niwa being tsundere. That or he doesn't want to admit he's got the hots for his aunt.
Just finished the first 3 episodes, and...don't really know what to think of it. Will be keeping an eye on this.
Though I agree that Erio's futon voice is adorable.
#IceBearForPresidentThe attention to Feet and Knees in this show is amazing I mean I am not one to notice these things but when after they have been sitting on the ground then get up seeing that their Knees are red... thats some detail.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I don't dislike this show, but I'm more bored by the segments about the other schoolgirls than I ought to be...
I'm really only interested in learning more about Erio. Hopefully those other girls will be relevant later on, or something.
Tumblr here.Huh. I'm the opposite. I find Erio to be kind of annoying, while the other characters are just quirky enough in the right way.
Well, Genki Girl is annoying too, but it feels more deliberate there.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI find Erio weird enough to go past moe and into irritating. The other characters are the right level of strange
Given that the show presents that aspect of her as a function of her being mentally broken, I'm completely fine with not finding her behavior appealing. The perspective character doesn't either, so I think being somewhat annoyed in entirely intentional.
I find Erio weird enough to be normal!
^^I'm actually in agreement with Clarste for once here. However humorous the show is, it's obvious that Erio's condition isn't going to be played for laughs; it's the central mystery of the plot, after all, and Erio is well and truly tweaked, not just eccentric.
It's been fun.I wonder how much the animators are getting paid to draw this show. It's like SHAFT made meduka meguca the way it is so they could spend all their money on this one's art.

If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.Did anyone take a crack at the light novels? How is it? I also heard that the light novels are, supposedly, finished...
They arnt up on baka-tsuki so I dont know.

Actually, that kind of bothers me even more. There's a kind of... Depressed-moe thing that I find very disturbing and Erio has shades of it.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThe OP makes me want to go full-on Gary Brolsma in front of a webcam... seriously. It's like a zombie virus. -_-" My life is ruined.
Thought this was going to be more Arakawa Under The Bridge but after the third episode it's tilting towards Bakemonogatari in the Sliding Scale of Silliness vs. Seriousness (Shaft edition).
There's probably better series to use as the ends of that scale, but those are the two that quickly come to mind.
The Shaft edition would start at Pani Poni Dash and end on Madoka Magica.
(We should list them :p)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!This one is somewhere in the middle of the scale. Which makes it closest to Negima!? out of all of Shaft's works
I would agree there goofy but underlying seriousness. If it follows that pattern we will be in for some completely goofy episodes around the midpoint then massive serious turn for the ending episodes.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Why do I keep listening to the OP? It sucks, and yet it doesn't!
#IceBearForPresidentI actually kind of like it. People don't like Hanasaku's OP either, and I'm fond of it.
It's been fun.
I'm not saying the red wasn't a Char reference. I'm saying I don't think he painted the bike so much as de-rusted it a bit. If he was painting it, he wouldn't have been able to see Erio's name, would he?
It's been fun.
