Comparing to other animes of this season is it What the hellish as Dog Days, or as Ore Tachi Ni Tsubasa Wa Nai?

I've only heard of the former and haven't seen the latter. Let me instead sum it up with a handy-dandy image macro:

Try "Serial Experiments Lain meets Psyren." At least, that is my initial reaction, even if it is not a good description.

It's almost like Yugioh with economics, except I'm not even sure that really explains what I just watched.

[up]Yeah, we need another episode to explain what is going on. First episode takes the "Show, Don't Tell" route with a Mind Screw show, so expect your mind to be screwed. Next episode will be explaining the situation to the main character, so hopefully it will make more sense afterwards.

Seriously though. When I saw the first few opening minutes, everything seemed to point to Yugioh with economics.

But it is so much weirder than that.

Weirdness aside, Is it any good? I'm watching a movie on youtube and have a Crap internet conection so I have to wait a while to see it.

[up] Um... That question is un-answerable at this time. It was eye-catching and impressive, but I honestly can't tell if the show is "good" at this point.

Interesting, but this episode was basically just set up. Well made, though

Msakaki is cool though. He's like a mix of Mephisto, Willy Wonka and Donald Trump.

For now let's say it's Eden of the East meets Yu-Gi-Oh! in an urban fantasy.

I'll follow this. Reminds of Money And Intelligence.

I thought the OP was cool, though. Well, mostly just the beginning bit with the bills of different currencies.

I'm curious to see when the horned girl seen in the promotional images will show up. Is she Kimimaro's summoned-thing?

Gah, so many shows are leaving me totally bewildered this season...
Math guy
Funimation's going to be posting episode 1 eventually, aren't they? I hope they're not waiting until next week so they can post the first two together...

[up] Well dur.

Bonus points goes to the first troper who makes a video comparing Masakaki to Willy Wonka. GO!

I'm getting some really strong Mega Ten vibes off of this. Seems interesting for now, so I'm going to keep following it.
'twas brillig.

Just started the first episode, and that is the most goddamn evil sounding ATM I have ever heard; I'm just waiting for it to ask the guy to feed it a stray cat.

[up][up]Mega Ten? Really? I might have to hit this up then.

I wonder if this show is gonna end up as overly dramatic as Death Note. The Financial District just screams Serious Business.
