Street Fighter II long forfeited any chance the Street Fighter series has ever had of winning any awards for racial sensitivity. Street Fighter III did something where several characters were designed almost independently of their nationalities (with some exceptions, like Sean and the New Yawhah known as Alex), so it's less
insensitive (though it's not totally absent), but IV went right back into the swing of things.
Fuerte's pretty par for the course in terms of how Street Fighter treats race. In fact, he could be worse to be honest. And he gets an alt that reminds me of Rey Mysterio, so I'm aiight with the guy really.
