I didn't think he directed them I thought he just produced them.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureHe's directed every Transformers movie and he's directing the upcoming one, albeit with increased studio supervision because they're tired of the films sucking. He's only directed the ones after the original because the studio won't let him make the movies he wants to make otherwise.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? It's also apparently his last one.
Anyway, on the topic, I can see why he'd feel that way. Franchise pictures tend to have a lot of executive meddling and comics in particular tend to have very rabid fanbases.
You kinda have to have a very thick skin or perspective if you want to make a Marvel or DC movie because no matter what you do someone is gonna be pissed at you. I think Stephen Amell even made a joke about someone telling him to stay off the internet when he first got cast as Green Arrow.
Yipes! Can we please stay on topic(and be civil!), so this thread does not get locked? Anyone know when the Justice League trailer will be released?
The next big WB film is Lego Batman in February so probably there.

DC has been teasing it for a while so we all thought the first teaser would release with Rogue One.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureHas there been any further news on that? I hope it's true.
The Transformers movies after the first one have all been uniformly terrible, which is why I don't get why he keeps making them.
I don't know. Could it be...money?
Less facetiously he's tried to walk away from the franchise more than once but the producers roped him back in. Typical by promising financing for movies he actually gives a shit about.
He's also extremely loyal to his crew. The thing is that most Hollywood jobs have you working 12 hour days for 3-4 months out of the year and largely unemployed the rest of the year. They pay extremely well (basic Production Assistants can make anywhere from 200-450 dollars a day), but missing the work you're expecting to have can be quite stressful.
In any case, Bay wasn't attacking comic book movies in general, he was only saying how he prefers to build a movie from the ground up and not take on the sequel to someone else's film.
Warner Bros. and other companies looking to partner with Apple for iTunes Premium Rentals.
If it goes into effect users can watch Justice League on iTunes while it is still in theaters.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureWonder how this would effect ticket prices.
I know same day digital is common for smaller movies but it's a bold move for a big release like this. Didn't they do something similar for BVS?
I'm not sure but it isn't just Warner Bros. it is also 20th Century Fox and Universal partnering with Apple.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureTicket sales are already down, aren't they? I'm wondering if this isn't more about curbing bootlegging. Do you want the shifty version for free, or would you rather pay a few bucks and watch it in full 4K or whatever? Chances are the people who want to see it on the big screen will go anyway, but those other viewers, that's untapped.
A lot of people have also just grown disenfranchised with the theater going experience. Tickets are more expensive than ever, and so are concessions, and on top of all that cost you'll likely have to deal with someone in the audience not shutting the fuck up (a fight almost broke out at our showing of Civil War because some jackass kept loudly asking his girlfriend to explain all the Continuity Nods to him).
If you can cut out the middle man and just watch it on TV that's probably a win.
George Lucas said some 15 years ago that the movie watching experience was going to go in that direction. When the interviewer asked how theaters can make money, he used sports games as an example. People still go to an arena or stadium to see a sporting event because the setting of the event is part of the experience. Front row or box seats would be the "Dolby Digital" or "IMAX" version. Some drive in theaters are still around for the same reasons.
I personally have seen the rise of luxury theaters with reclining seats, more elaborate food choices and even a bar. Ticket prices are actually the same, because theaters make most of their money ON the stuff they sell the audiences.
In reality, the crux to same day digital releases would have to be in the prices and/or limited time rentals. You won't be able to buy the movie outright for 5 dollars on the first day.

Sigh.
I'm excited about the Batfleck movie, really, I am, especially if they use Batfamily characters that haven't been done before, like Nightwing or Batwoman.
But I would be even more excited if they did a movie that, you know, hasn't been seen a million times before. I know they need to find a new director for The Flash, but that was one movie I was excited about.
Does anyone know a DC character who can play guitar?
Pain and Gain is excellent and hit all of his strengths. The Transformers movies after the first one have all been uniformly terrible, which is why I don't get why he keeps making them.
You mean like when you mocked the former Flash director and then made a post comparing him to Josh Trank, essentially calling him a whiny crybaby? Relax, it's a joke. I mean, Skid and Mudflap really are fucking terrible, but the post was a joke.
