Though to be fair, the Avengers don't typically get together because of aliens like the JLA do (iirc, the major running thing is that Loki is involved), but the fact that they did so in the movie is very amusing because of the comparison.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Not directly. Lee and Kirby came up with the Fantastic Four when asked to do a Justice League equivalent. Avengers came out when it did as a quick replacement for Daredevil, which was taking too long. The idea of individual heroes teaming up is so old and so basic that I think the JSA and JLA get too much credit for being the first to do it in the genre and medium.
Am I a good man or a bad man?The Wikipedia article said it was due to Justice League's popularity. At least the header paragraph.
(V)(;,,;)(V)Plus, they generally first band together to stop an alien invasion. And their most dreaded enemy is a godlike being from across the universe who is obsessed with the opposite of life and wants to spread it throughout the universe.
To be fair, Thanos is generally far more of a Silver Surfer-Adam Warlock-other cosmics foe, rather than an Avengers foe. Darkseid used to be that way too, until Superman lore fully absorbed him and the New Gods franchise as a whole, and Darkseid became basically Mongul Mark II rather than THE COSMIC GOD OF EVIL.
Ironically, Mongul himself was meant to a ripoff of a ripoff
Watch SymphogearAnd everything comes full circle.
I still remember a guy in my cinema muttering that Thanos looked like a rip-off of Doomsday.
Am I a good man or a bad man?I still remember a guy in my cinema believing it was Super-Skrull.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I got the Red Skull, from my friend. I guess the lighting wasn't great on that space rock thing.
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again. It was the Red Skull's second cousin, the Purple Cranium.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Uhm, the New Gods have always been rooted deeply in the Superman mythos. Remember, Jack Kirby's run on the Jimmy Olsen series was where Darkseid and the rest of his Fourth Wall stuff first showed up.
I'd argue that the opposite of what you said is true: Darkseid was first established as a Superman character, but has since been developed into the Big Bad of the entire DCU, culminating in the event of Final Crisis.
Bite my shiny metal ass.I know this thread wasn't for the 2017 Justice League because it was created two years before the DCEU started with Man of Steel. It's just the DCEU thread is locked currently and I have something that sort of relates to Justice League.
Gal Gadot talks about her time playing Wonder Woman in the Justice League
She also explains why her Justice League co-stars are just like the characters they portray.
“Literally, each and every one of them is the character in a weird way. Henry has this good will, and is polished and pure. Ben is more cynical, and more dark, and more… Batman-y”

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureStuff like that's nice but you have to wonder how real it is.
Also, another thread down ?
Damn it people .
Well a Justice League movie is coming, so might as well take over this thread for the movie.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Maybe we should make a new thread for a fresh start.
If not, that link posted takes me to the remastered Arkham games.
Sorry I fixed it. I accidentally had that link last saved and I thought I copied the link to the video I wanted to post.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureAny more Justice League news? And can we agree to drop any dispute causing matters, before any more proverbial dams get busted(aka thread closings due to flame wars, funny how ancient wisdom can apply to flame wars on the internet)?
Since certain people got the DCEU thread closed, here's James Wan on Aquaman's tone and feel.
I still don't understand why people make threads for movies over 2 years away.
This thread was made over five years ago. Point?
Yes, I am being facetious.
Anyways, I hope someone(probably theFlash) makes a crack that their group be called Super Friends or says that they are a bunch of Super Friends, like in the DCAU cartoon.

Chiefly to compile all the information about the movie in one place, so as to avoid misinformation spreading around. The OP of the Aquaman thread has everything we know about it all in one succinct post, with references.
Btw, everything you need to know about Ben's Batman movie, by Mark Hughes.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."So anybody read any good fanfic on the DCEU.
There's way too many creepy ones. Don't ask for details.
Justice League in 1960 (The Brave and the Bold #28). Avengers was 1963 specifically because of Justice League's popularity.
Admitted influence.
