Ahhhh. Well, do what you have to.
On a semi-related topic, Hartman Hips needs a sectionomy, as well as pruning of links from other pages.
Based on what?
Fight smart, not fair.Based on examples that don't fit.
There's a big difference between "cut the bad examples" and a sectionomy.
Just removing bad examples is generally referred to as pruning, cleaning, or trimming ie things you do to take care of a garden. Nuking, cutting, -ectomizing is what you do when you want something removed in it's entirety. Which did you mean?
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, pruning.
Back ontopic: Since Real Life seems to have something against me working on several of my TV Tropes endeavors for the past couple of months, I've decided to post Captain Pat's proposed reenvisioning of Hourglass Hottie's description for the greater troper community to look over and see how to refine it. I see a good deal of potential in it, but it needs considerable polishing before it can be declared viable.
I made a couple of corrections for now, marked in bold.
A somewhat common bodytype of a Ms. Fanservice and/or Hello Nurse exclusive to animated and illustrated works.
An hourglass figure is a normal but rather rare body shape for a women to possess in Real Life. In the world of animated or drawn fiction, not so much. An hourglass figure tends to be the standard bodyshape of most animated or drawn women, especially if a work is trying to potray said character as attractive or desirable.
What makes an Hourglass Hottie different from other female characters with hourglass figures is the emphasis her character design places on her Hourglass figure. Hourglass Hottie can have a bust-waist-hip ratio ranging from "very rare IRL " to anatomically impossible (without help anyway). Regardless of the size of the character's waist, it shouldn't simply be smaller than both her bustline and hips. Her waist needs to be markedly smaller in comparison to the other two features, giving her torso the necessary hourglass shape.
No Real Life examples, please.
EDIT: Adapted Willbyr's tweak, as noted below.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think there is no reason to try to squeeze in real life examples just so people can gush creepily about women they think are hot. They aren't this trope and they shouldn't be included in it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dickyea, I PM Marq FJA about having second thoughts (though I'm still somewhat open) about expanding the trope because I couldn't figure out a way to word it so that is would not include" just any female character with an hourglass figure". Phrases like rare-in-Real Life would just mean an average hourglass figure to most people, since hourglass figure themselves are also rare in Real Life.
I'm not advocating for including Real Life examples, actually. That said, I'll modifying the part in question to clarify what I wanted to say.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Um, I got a watchlist update on this thread, but I don't see any new posts. What happened?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Huh, and now it just happened with you listed as the updater. Glitch?
bump
"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.I'd make some changes to the last sentence of the second paragraph:
Regardless of the size of the character's waist, it shouldn't simply be smaller than both her bustline and hips. Her waist needs to be markedly smaller in comparison to the other two features, giving her torso the necessary hourglass shape.

Shoot. That was the point of submitting the draft description here, after all: To get constructive criticism, and discuss ways of improving the draft.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Sure what addition?

Sorry, I had to do about four separate edits to say what I was wanting to say. Check my post again.
That's a very good tweak. Applying now.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Well, it puts more emphasize on the "small but comparison" part but I don't think it would really change much. Still wouldn't hurt to reiterate though.
When I made this trope I limited it to impossible in Real Life because those types of depictions were distinctive, deliberate and easier to spot and differentiate from other female character (and there are lots of them) with hourglass figures. I'm not completely sure the same can be said for character with figures like Mizuki or Mora. Both case definitely took me a couple look throughs to even consider adding to the trope, which I don't think should ever be the case with a Graphical Trope.

bump for resolution
"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.Yea, it's high time a decision was made. I know I'm sounding impatient but the thread been going on for about 2 months now and there doesn't seem to be a elegant solution for the proposed expansion for this trope. While I can understand the and even considered the sentiment of expanding this trope, I also want a clear definition.
While the trope definition now may be restrictive, it's also clear, distinctive, and doesn't leave any room for seconding guessing. So for now, I think we should stick with it.
Yeah, but I also prefer to preempt future Trope Decay than wait for it to set in before making a move. Fixing unnecessary restrictiveness without compromising the trope's overall integrity would help prevent future incidents of tropers waging Edit Wars over whether or not to enforce restricted interpretations of the definition.
That said, I am also very agitated at how the troper community as a whole appears to be very prudish about participating in threads that talk about sexuality-related tropes. You make a thread about fixing Takahashi Couple, and you get dozens of pages worth of posts within a week or two; but make a similar one about fixing Buxom Is Better, and it might take a whole month just to get into the second page.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The irony though, is that they certainly don't mind using those same tropes.
Anyways, I share Marq FJA sentiments. Regardless of the result, it would have been really productive to have more input and suggestions from the get go.
Well, for now, this trope should simply be about female characters with cartoonishly exaggerated or anatomically impossible hourglass figures. I, or any other troper if they wants to, should make sure to emphasize that in the trope description more.
Also, it's not like this is that end all be all TRS discussions. There's always next time.

Gah, got distracted by Real Life and forgot all about this thread and my intentions to review Captain Pat's proposed reworking of the description. Give me a couple of days, I'll hopefully have it up by then. (currently working from my brother's PC while my laptop gets repaired)
