Steins;Gate

So, first episode's out by now. The characters do need some ironing out but it seems interesting plot-wise and I enjoyed the art style and animation immensely.

Anyone else watching this?

Watching, yes. Not certain if I like it

I'll keep watching until it becomes more trouble than it's worth. The first episode was hardly even a prologue.

It's more of an on-the-fence deal for me as well, but I'm cautiously optimistic. After all, screwing up a premise like this would take a monumental amount of effort.

Not to say it won't be meh or average, I just doubt it could be entirely bad.

Chaos Head managed to screw itself over pretty impressively in the last few episodes

The first episode really reminded me of the beginning of the Interlude OVA. That's generally a good thing.

Though I was also really disappointed with Chaos;Head... we will see.

Completely confusing and frustrating- and then an interesting twist at the end to hook me, so now I have to watch the 2nd episode- which I know is going to be just as confusing and frustrating, and will probably give me just enough to hook me into watching episode 3.

I can already see where this is going. Dang it!

The episode overall was interesting enough to keep me watching but goddamn Mayuri and Itaru were annoying. Rintaro was pretty grating at times too, but at least he was kind of funny.

So far from what I've gathered from the first episode and from the brief description given, a freak lab accident that for a time went unnoticed by Rintaro and co. somehow allowed his cellphone to send a message back in time, thus altering the future. Hence the discrepancy in his memories and the alteration of the day's events. Time will only tell if he'll piece it together.

Also, Kurisu is hawt.

Itaru was amusing, but I didn't care much either way. But Mayushii was adorable~~

Eh, it's more of a personal preference thing I guess. I hate stereotypical ditzy voices like that. They drive me nuts.

That and Mayuri in general just gave off some serious Psychopathic Manchild vibes in my opinion. Just sayin'

Mayushii is a horrible person, and we should all hate her, if there's any justice in the world.

Anyway, what happened is that the crazy guy witnesses a murder, sends a text to his friend about it, and somehow that text ends up going backwards in time and changes the past such that a big satellite landed on the building before the murder happened. Crazy guy has Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory though, so from his perspective he hit the send button and suddenly the world changed around him. That's... about it. Not complicated. The show is more atmospheric than anything else so far.

Unless Mayushii reveals some serious Hidden Depths I don't think I'm going to like her. Ditz characters always annoy me. Itaru has an irritating voice and design, but he's actually kind of funny. And Kyouma is just a delusional jackass. On the plus side, Kurisu seems likable, and her design is nice

I've heard nothing but good things about the original material, but most of the praise came from the gameplay and multiple endings, so I'm not sure if The Anime of the Game is going to be that good...

Ah screw it, this has time travelling microwaves, there's no way it could be bad.

Is Horriblesubs any good? I feel like the subs made it difficult for me to understand what happened since I didn't even get the part where the message was sent back in time until I went to this thread.
