[up]There's only one or two of them. They lead to a quest in a hidden area in the next sector; and that one you better do.

And about the other timed quests, you still have some room to maneuver. There's a good handful of other stuff beforehand.

I am now proud to say i now own a copy of the game

Unfortunately due to the whole rarity thing i kinda had to do this back asswards and don't have a system to play it on yet.

But i will in time.

I've been replaying the game lately, however I never beat the final boss on my first play-though. I saved right before the point of no return.

Does the post game content (80+) have to be done before facing Zanza or does the game let you go back?

You can't go back. What I did was deal with the final battle, save in another slot, and then load the first one and deal with the high level content.

I just finished the game normally first, then did a completionist run on new game+. As you can skip cut scenes, start with the Monado and high levels, you can get through the game quite fast during your second time.

So I can save right after beating the dragon and before going though the portal at Prison Island. Then just not save again? Or do I need another save file?

You can save after that fight without worries, you can still go back. The only "mandatory" save point after that event is after the ending, in order to set up the New Game Plus. Where you save that file depends on what you want to do: Save it in another slot (or just don't save it at all) if you want to do what I did, or just overwrite your current save if you want to do what Uchuujinsan did.

Alright, I remember being told of 55 timed Quests in Alcamoth. I've got 52 done, and before moving forth I want to make sure I have them all. I'm having trouble finding the last three.

Pardon the long list, but could I get a little help here? I have completed:

  • The Deciphering Machine
  • A Necessary Upgrade
  • Talia's Research
  • Bring Back My Son!
  • Teaching Materials
  • Brave Actions
  • Protect the Capital
  • How Do They Feel!?
  • How Do I Feel?
  • I Love You No Matter What
  • A Friend in Need
  • Preparing for Adventure
  • Preparing for Adventure 2
  • Preparing for Adventure 3
  • Adventurers in Peril
  • Starlight Seeker
  • Starlight Gazer
  • Back Pain
  • Looking for Gold Bugs
  • Losing the Taste for Alcohol
  • Looking for a Lost Son
  • Looking for a Lost Daughter
  • Going Out to Play
  • Getting a Member's Card
  • Monster Quest 1 - Part 1
  • Monster Quest 1 - Part 2
  • Monster Quest 1 - Part 3
  • Monster Quest 2 - Part 1
  • Monster Quest 2 - Part 2
  • Monster Quest 2 - Part 3
  • Monster Quest 3 - Part 1
  • Monster Quest 3 - Part 2
  • Monster Quest 3 - Part 3
  • Monster Quest 4 - Part 1
  • Monster Quest 4 - Part 2
  • Monster Quest 4 - Part 3
  • Challenge 1
  • Challenge 2
  • Challenge 3
  • Challenge 4
  • Material Quest 1
  • Material Quest 2
  • Material Quest 3
  • Material Quest 4
  • Collection Quest 1
  • Collection Quest 2
  • Collection Quest 3
  • Collection Quest 4
  • Search Quest 1
  • Search Quest 2
  • Search Quest 3
  • Search Quest 4

-phew- I don't even need to necessarily know the quest's name, just who gives it out. My Affinity with the area is at four stars, by the by.

I think that was why I never got any further than Seven's recruitment.

I couldn't find and finish all the timed quests, so I gave up (yeah, I'm a bit of a completionist.)

Alright, I'm giving you all the info you might need. You're missing the following:

  • Building Bridges
    • Need Ariellenote , Lesunianote  and Vidiannote  registered on the Affinity Chart
    • Speak with Arielle.
  • Believing Again
    • Complete the first quest
    • Speak with Vidian

The other quest you're missing is mutually exclusive to I Love You No Matter What.

PS: I see you have Getting a Member's Card in there. I assume you already completed the related Frontier Village quest right?

Indeed I do, that entire arc has been completed. I didn't expect that item to be such a bad thing after all, hehe.

Thanks~!

Note: The completion, or lack thereof, of certain Alcamoth quests (Adventurers in Peril and Believing Again, unsure which, if any, others) determine the availability of later (after timed-quest expiration) mutually exclusive quests.

Don't go looking for details, there will be major spoilers. It isn't anything to worry about though, the only real consequence is that you may need to spend more time farming for some stuff depending on what quests you do.

I started playing this game again. I feel woefully out of my element (i forget where to buy most of the arts for relevant characters and have no idea how to form a good party, plus i'm sure my equipment is crap). i'm on my way to sword valley atm, current party is riki, shulk, and reyn. seems to be working for now but idk for how long.

if there's anything i have much to complain about, is that the plot is pretty standard jrpg/animu fare with the expected narmy dialogue and character interactions. it's a bit of a disappointment that it isn't better executed because the setting has lots of fantastic ideas. that and i wish there were better sidequests besides "fetch x amount of items or kill x amount of monsters" or whatever trivial shit they have you do. outside of that, it's the most polished jrpg i've played in a very long time.

[up]Still, they're very considerate about those 'kill x of y' or 'collect x of y', in that they warn you in advance about the items/kills before you get the quest with visions.

Why don't more RP Gs do that?

Update tiiiiiime~!

I start with two questions:

  • I had a rather bad run-in with a Damage Spike enemy. Any tips for dealing with them? Spamming Monado Purge didn't seem to help much...
  • Second: can someone give me a quick link to that fantastic song that played during the Yaldabaoth fight?

So, special mention to Gadolt for being the second boss (after Metal Face) to kill me, and the second one to give me any real trouble! (After Mechon M71.) AoE attacks of the ether variety certainly do suck to put up with. And also, I have learned the true power of the Heropon and his lethal tactic of Say Sorry! after stacking tons of debuffs.

I know exactly which spike damaging bastard you're talking about.

Spike. Defense. Gems.

It is almost, if not literally, impossible to kill it without them. Even for level 99 team with Sharla out to heal. And yes, it is immune to Daze + Headshot = Instakill.

[up]What he said. Mind mentioning who the spike monster is? I can't recall.

Going by what you said, I assume you completed the capital, right? If that's the case, did you find the secret areas on the field? One is on the lowest floor, and the other is in the wound.

[up]I found neither of them. Elsewhere I heard it's too late to do anything else but the quests are still in my log so...

The monster in question was Wise Gremory. Bloody heck, I hope that it doesn't become a big trend with unique monsters.

Firework Geldesia has an aura that inflicts Daze. And you have to beat it to get Seventh's final skill tree.

Wise Gremory can be Topple-locked to keep it from spiking you.

I can't say for certain if it'll work or not, but assuming you're at the point I think you are, try to see if you can find them, especially the one in the wound, ASAP. You gotta slide your way to that one.

As long the Mechonis Core hasn't been completed, the Field is still available.

On that note, complete everything you can in regards to rebuilding C6 before completing Mechonis Core; there are a lot of collectibles needed for C6 that come from Mechonis, but aren't available on Fallen Arm.

Here are the materials you must have on you:

  • 2 x Azure Hollyhock (field) (special 4)
  • 2 x Retro Diode (field) (housing 4)
  • 2 x Mossy Panel (field) (commerce 4)
  • 2 x Black Styrene (central) (housing 5)
  • 2 x Angel Engine X (central) (special 5)
  • 3 x Blue Light Amp (capital) (special 5)
  • 1 x Fortune Feather (capital) (commerce 5)

Out of all of them, the Fortune Feather is the only one that appears to be 100% Lost Forever later on, unless one of Colony 6's special buildings drops them randomly. Still, huge pain in the ass.

BTW, don't bother trying to complete reconstruction. You can't. Yet.
