I like the idea of Ishmael Sanchez too when I think it over, the pig is a nice touch and a Golem is not such a bad idea either, I'm just not very into the one presented.

I guess a good fifteen out of those would be a good starting roster, you could unlock older Darkstakers as you go and then the boss would be a parasite inside the body of Belial, the mysterious evil power that lives on Earth or the foretold leader of humanity. Maybe Jedah will be a bonus unlockable Degraded Boss like Pyron. Canon wise dead but still playable.

Yep, looks pretty reasonable. I was planning on making a few other purchases, but I wanted to make sure I had enough funds to buy Resurrection, so I'm waiting until after I pick that up to spend my money on the rest.

Wait... I'm pretty sure Belial is dead (unless you meant a parasite was crawling around in his husk) and Jedah is alive (3 ended on a cliffhanger and a few endings aren't contradictory to one another). And isn't Anita the foretold future leader of humanity?

Besides, it probably wouldn't be the best idea to regulate all of the returning characters to hidden status. A rough split between new and old might be more feasible and less likely to rile up the fanbase.

Not in all cultures, depending on how 'witch' is translated (such as the Navajo, most 'witches' are dudes). One thing I liked about the subspace emissary in Smash Bros was that it forced use of new characters, I like seeing gamers thrown out of their complacency. When Tekken four forced you to unlock the main character who was on the front of the box, I thought that was pretty funny.

Come to think of it, I guess Jedah is most likely alive. The boss would probably either be humanity's leader or the "antichrist child" depending on who you play as with Jedah as the "sub boss"...

I concede your point and I do like how SSE went about things; I just don't think it should be to that extent, is all. I mean, even SSE had you use default characters like Mario, Kirby, Link, Yoshi, etc. in the earlier stages.

Gangster Slenderman (Or any tall, skinny, creepy-looking fellah wearing a suit) is actually a pretty great idea, although it might be stepping on B.B. Hood's toes.

Maybe if he was less of a Slendy expy and more along the lines of "snazzily-dressed human guy who is abnormally creepy". It'd be a nice compliment to how B.B. Hood's the biggest monster of the cast despite not being the slightest bit demonic, not to mention a bit more original.

...so, I've just discovered this is a thing. I don't really play fighting games - at all - but this almost makes me want to. I love it conceptually.

Also, on the subject of crossovers that will never happen: it would be the best thing to see B. B. Hood versus Hansel and Gretel. :D

Not really, since BB Hood is superhuman and they're well...not.

B.B. Hood isn't exactly superhuman herself; she's just really, really good at her job and so evil, her aura is mistaken for that of a Darkstalker.

Obviously she is to some extent if she can fight on par with some of the other darkstalkers.

The same logic can apply to H&G. Spoilsport. >:P

...Well, anyway, Resurrection is out finally. From what I've heard GGPO is still as good as ever.

Better practice my BB combos.

@ Vertigo: She's essentially the Lady of Darkstalkers: blurs the line between Badass Normal and Charles Atlas Superpower although there's nothing explicit (aside of maybe her evil aura) to suggest she's anything other than a regular person. At any rate, she's the only human of the bunch, which counts for something.

@ Nap: Oh man, it's been a while since I've played a Darkstalkers game, period. Jeez, am I going to be rusty.

How well are my Hsien-Ko skills from Marvel Vs Capcom going to transfer over?

@BB Hood: This is teh animeland. She can tank hits in Darkstalkers that would obliterate... Well, tanks.

Hsien Ko in Marvel 3 plays nothing like Hsien Ko in Vampire Savior.

For one thing, she's actually good in this game.

Hey, I made her work. Alongside X-23 and Super Skrull.

Who, to be honest, are the three characters I knew the least about from their continuities before playing as them in MVC 3. Funny how the world works.
