I'm bored. Suggest to me and your fellow tropers CRP Gs to play. More specifically, CRP Gs that have a plot and aren't just dungeon crawls. May also want to limit suggestions to free games of those credentials.

It's also pointless to suggest Chrono Trigger or Earth Bound or Deus Ex, because everyone already knows they're good. I'm talking about games that I haven't played yet.

I've got two:

  • Freedroid RPG: Awesome, if short, Open Source isometric game starring Tux the Penguin. Cam be found here

  • Cognitive Dissonance: A very, very good RPG Maker 2k3 (don't let that put you off of it) Earthbound fangame set between MOTHER 0 and Earthbound. Can be found here.

Anyone else got suggestions?

Wait, what? Amazon has Planescape: Torment for less than $20, without going through shady resellers or another? Seriously?

Sold!

GOG.com has it for even less, although, of course, that's a digital download only.

If you want cheap retro games, always look at GOG. Their prices are tough to beat, and its even DRM free.

Seconding everything ARiS said so hard, but here's some Share Ware:

  • Anything from Spiderweb, $15-$28 (or in series bundles for $5-$18 per game.)
  • Basilisk's Eschalon series, $20 & $25.
