[lol][lol][lol][lol][up]Seriously that's just mean.

No, SERIOUSLY now, this is the most snobbish, sneering, superiority-complex-ridden pile of crap that I have ever been faced with. Fuck them. Seriously, there was no need to be so insulting. I thought I could hear Pr. Sheldon Cooper's voice dictating this.

I have no issues with it, language is evolving with time.

I don't care either. Be honest, how many people are gonna look up OMG in the dictionary and use it in everyday conversation? Also, nobody uses those words in real life outside of jokes.

That's a nice paradigm you have there...

Let me destroy it.

LOL.

@Newfable: Re: "Muggle". OED definition is

In the fiction of J. K. Rowling: a person who possesses no magical powers. Hence in allusive and extended uses: a person who lacks a particular skill or skills, or who is regarded as inferior in some way.

and two non-Harry Potter quotations are listed.

(Apparently, OED offers some free access again! Use it while it lasts!)

EDIT: Or not.

What's wrong with OMG and LOL being in the OED? They are commonly used acronyms. And for anyone who thinks OMG is recent, here's a quote from 1917:

"I hear that a new order of Knighthood is on the tapis—O.M.G. (Oh! My God!)—Shower it on the Admiralty!"

Just because they started on the internet, doesn't mean they're not worthy of being in the OED. OMG is just a modern version of 'omigod' which dates back to 1961:

"Every time I went down in the first fight, Mr. Weinberg sorter prayed out loud, ‘Omigod’, he kept saying in one word."
