Heh, rodney, I'd say this very thread has presented strong arguments both for and against your position. Summaries are good when the issues may be confusing, and there was clearly a lot of confusion about this trope, but summaries are bad if they're misleading or push an agenda, which is easy to do—we very nearly had some rather misleading summaries here.

Anyway, now that we've paused to talk things through a little more, I think we may all be agreed that we really only have two reasonable names offered so far, Boobs and Butt Pose, and Tits And Ass Pose, and I think most of us agree that the latter is rather more vulgar than the former, especially in the US. But all four words appear in other trope names (Gag Boobs, Boobs of Steel, I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!, Nothing Butt an Index, Torpedo Tits, Ass Pull, Ass Shove), so I think we're probably ok with either. Should we start the crowner with just those two? (My vote is yes.)

Ok, seems like someone already made a crowner here. It includes the two misleading options with "brokeback", but I think it's probably good enough. The discussion has been pretty clear.

It might be—I certainly believe that people have used the term—but a quick google search didn't find anything, while a google search for "boobs and butt pose" turned up almost nothing but references to what the trope describes.

Two Breasts Two Buttocks No Spine sounds way more narrow that the trope as it's currently described.

No, but I have cookies enabled for Google, and anyone who does that is likely to get different results from anyone else who does that. So, ok, T&A has some currency—I'm not exactly surprised. I still think B&B is more commonly used specifically for this trope, and it's a little less vulgar (especially for Americans, who use "ass" in much the same way that Brits use "arse").

I agree about the two breasts one. Too specific and too long, and not a standard term. Spine-breaking is not a requirement; the pose is used in photos as well as drawings. Its milder forms are merely uncomfortable (and extremely silly when used as a fighting pose—nearly Chainmail Bikini's level of silliness).

In the Real Life section of the examples list is a link to the famous picture of Betty Grable, and it seems to me that that picture is the Trope Maker for this pose. So how about a Betty Grable themed title? Some possibilities: Betty Grable Pose, Betty Grable Twist, Brokeback Betty Grable, and Extreme Betty Grable.

I don't know how to say this nicely... but that is a very bad idea.

I think we basically have consensus here, so I don't really think we have a great need for new suggestions. Especially since the leading candidate is an established term.

Current status: Boobs and Butt Pose has 14:1 and everything else is in the red.
