AKA, we talk about TV. I'm currently watching The Wire (still on season one, near the end. The "Where's Wallace" scene was so sad) and The Walking Dead, which is cool if a little slow.

I watch Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune with my grandparents. Sometimes I watch soaps, the news, crime documentaries, that Nostradamus bullshit on the History channel, and such with them as well.

Adventure Time is one of the best out right now. It's reminiscent of the more surreal 90s cartoons.

Haven't watched that all yet. I think the most recent Western cartoon I've watched with any regularity is Total Drama ENTER A FUCKING WORD HERE. Haven't watched it since about half way through Action...I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S HAPPENING.

I liked Twin Peaks.

I'm not sure if this should go here or in the other thread.

The Wire is the greatest television show ever concieved.

Try to watch something else after you finish it, it'll change your perception on TV Shows.

You can get what you want and still not be very happy.

My main problem with The Walking Dead is that Rick is something of a Marty Stu. Same with the comic really.

It's becuse The Walking Dead ight as well be called "Rick's survival". The whole point is that he's an exceptional human being facing exceptional conditions.

Anyway, I watched The Wire until season 4 and I'm looking for Five. I recommend the show wholeheartedly. It's got humor, sadness, grittiness, style, it looks gorgeous (The blue and grey palette in S04 is just amazing) and it's suberpfully wirtten.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

@Lolipod: That's not even the greatest blow the show will achieve. Trust me.

Also, Kima getting shot and the aftermath in the next episode is probably my favorite sequences from any show ever.

@Lolipod: I think that's the moment that sold the show for me. Well, either that or the second-to-last ep of S02.

Saw an episode of Fringe last night for the first time. I have only two comments:

1) It must be fun writing for a show that doesn't care whether the plot makes sense or not.

2) Those writers are smoking some good shit.

Terra Nova which starts tomorrow looks to have some promise and is available on both public and cable channels. Science fiction style series with time travel being used to start a colony in the distant past during the time of the dinosaurs.

Ah, Fringe... Deliciously insane. And yet once you figure out what's going on, the story is actually pretty strong somehow. Maddy's evaluations are pretty accurate.

I found it strangely compelling, despite all the times I wanted to fling something at the TV and yell "<fitb> doesn't work that way!"
