I always thought that Dimitri used to be a member ever since it looked like he was in that one blob monster flashback panel.
Dimitri being a spectral would be awesome. Being in the newspaper club would let him cover up the gang's activities, and keep an eye on Suzy at the same time. So that's why the activity club no longer has 4 members; nobody died, someone had to go undercover.
This could indeed be him in panel 5. Never noticed that before.
"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me!" ~ Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic ColoursOh, he definitely knows what's happening. That's not in question. But we still don't know precisely how spectrals are created (other than being possessed by something which slowly turns you into a spectral), so it could be that he knows about spectrals and all that without actually having any ability to see ghosts or Isabel's little message.
Or he saw the message just fine and the word choice is driving me to weird places.
@Deadpool: That's not the only flashback he mighht have appeared in.

Well, the ambiguity in word choice is likely deliberate.
That was pointed out, yes.
x5 Or Spectrals can lose their powers somehow.
Alternatively, his not being openly a part of the club is related to the "bad thing" Isaac accidentally did.

Umbran Climax◊Alternatively, not alternatively.
Or, in less opaque fashion, the Bad Thing™ took away Dmitri's spectral powers.
But if Dimitri was part of the Activity Club, why didn't Suzy interrogate him about it?
Because he didn't let her know, thus decreasing the odds of her blowing up his house?
Shit, I sure wouldn't let Suzy know anything about me if I could get away with it.
But wouldn't Suzy know who the Activity Club members are? The very first thing she did when she started the school was checking out all the clubs and she's been obsessed with the Activity Club ever since. Also, presumably he hung out with the rest of the club before he left. Maybe if he originally joined the newspaper club and then got his powers it could work?
Or his power was memory wipes and he used it when he got just completely done with Spencer's bullshit.
He joined the newspaper club for the ironic value.

Isaac, I'm sorry to say, but you're no longer the undisputed champ at being anime. There is a contender.
I have a message from another time...
I think the team is like that because Demitri thought of it, Max overheared it, and Johnny is nearby and punched a snake once.
The stylization is getting bigger. Soon we will all be chibi.

It would be cool if this is where Johnny's spectral ability is revealed, but he probably would have mentioned seeing shades, and besides, I get the feeling that the Activity Club isn't going to find out about him for a while.
That's probably in a chapter or two.
Wait, so is Dmitri in on the whole Spectral deal, or not?
Oh God! Natural light!Who spoke through Max with the weird double-tailed speech bubbles?
Why are Spender and Lucifer keeping an imprisoned darkness spirit secret?
How did Max's mom die?
Why is the spirit controlling Jeff trying to get into the teachers' lounge?
What does Isabel's new umbrella spirit look like?
Dimitri's deal, the questions above, all these and many more are mysteries we know not the answer to yet. Pages will tell.

That's good writin', folks.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
"alone with us" only makes sense if he knows spirit stuff is happening.
Then there's the hand in the chapter's cover art.
