Anime-tedThe page has four pictures. Obviously, an Image Links page needs to be made, but which one of these should be kept for the page pic? Should we try for a better one?
The Gentleman GeekThe fourth one, in my opinion.
I'm...honestly not sure what I'm looking at for any of them. Apparently, they're evil or something?
Anime-tedThe first is a boss from Contra...one of the ones near the bottom is a boss from R-Type. Those are the two I recognized.
Yeah, I see the viscera, but not the evil.
The Gentleman GeekYou're right, the evil part isn't really obvious. Well, it's obvious that the first and fourth ones are boss monsters, which tend to be evil, but still...
Yeah, I'd say that of the four, the first is best, but still not quite there.
The Gentleman GeekHere is a bunch of pictures of kittens for your viewing pleasure: 1◊, 2◊, 3◊, 4◊ EDIT: Updated with a fourth one. It's very cute and fuzzy and I named it Mittens.

crazy and proud of itFor those who couldn't identify the 2nd and 3rd original page images: the 2nd one is Bodolza / Boddole Zer from Macross: Do You Remember Love. The 3rd one is Giygas' Lair from Earthbound. And, I wasn't aware that it is illegal for a page to have more than one image on it. That would have ramifications for many pages if it were in fact illegal for a page to have more than one image on it.
Anime-tedActually, AFAIK it's not; there's at least one page that uses two separate pics. However, those pics are at the top of the page like all the other pages. Having pics strewn throughout the examples list is ugly, and is just inviting abuse.

We have a few pages with multiple images but generally they're either pictures of the same example separated for stylistic reasons or a collage in the normal space showing variations of the trope. Having four unrelated images scattered through the examples like this is just kind of ugly looking to me.

BurnI actually would prefer we didn't use one from The Thing (At least as a page image; for image links it would probably be okay). While The Thing is an amazing movie and the effects are gorgeous, the monster is never really confirmed as "evil" or "good;" it's really just a lifeform trying to survive. MacReady and the others could only survive by killing the thing, and the creature could only survive by killing them. It might have been sentient, it might not have, but it certainly had self-preservation as an interest. There's also the gross out factor; while this is inherently a gruesome trope, the effects in The Thing are nightmarish enough to, well, give people nightmares.

Anime-tedThis still needs to be resolved. At the very least, I think the pics in the example list need to be moved to an Image Links page.
Anime-tedOne more bump...barring any suggestions as to what could replace the first pic, I'll pull the others and put them on an Image Links page later, unless someone beats me to it.
Anime-tedThe images in the examples have been moved to an Image Links page; keeping the current pic for now. Hollering for a lock.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
