Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu:

Didn't find an existing thread, so.

Haven't read the light novels yet, or the manga.

Also I thought this was more like a turn-based RPG when it came to the ESBs, but episode 12 shows that the characters actually do have control over the movements of their summoned beings.

I wonder how they control them...

Always Right
Probably the same way stand users control their stands.

So apparently the two ending songs are supposed to run parallel to each other...

I wish more anime did things like these endings...

I wonder what the point of breaking that wall was in the B class versus F class battle. I mean Voyeur probably has enough points to take them on alone in Health.

Also I don't get why they don't just not summon their beings in battle in cases where it would be a bad idea, like when one is ambushed.

Well that first part was a bit of a change from the novels

Novel version
  • During a battle against Class B, B's rep is cornered, but the entrances of his hiding spot are well-fortified. Using the layout of the floor to his advantage, Yoshii fakes a battle against Shimada in Class D's room to use his summon and punch a hole into the wall separating them from Class B's room.

Anime version
  • In the anime this is done a little differently. Because Nemoto stole Himeji's love letter, Yoshii gets revenge by using his bracelet to create the field, and then punching out the wall even though it caused his hands to bleed.

Summoning is something they have to do once a fight has been accepted by a teacher IIRC refusing to fight is an automatic loss.

Why did Yuuji get 53 points on the elementary school history test if he's a child prodigy?

I watched the first 8 or so episodes because I read the joke on the guy who looks like a girl, and I thought it was hilarious.

I waas quickly disappointed, as the execution was so incredibly bad and japanese, it sucked all the funniness out of it.
Always Right
The execution was so badly japanese? (I understand what the "bad" part would mean...personally I liked it, but it's the "japanese" part used as an adjective that I'm confused with)

It seems that he got his math(I think) scores up high during the battle against D class though.

Yeah he let all his overall grades drop to crappy levels and leaked it. He studied just math to get his grades up in that department just for his plan.

He is a Book Dumb Chessmaster who uses the fact that he is Book Dumb to his advantage in battle.

That doesn't seem like he's Book Dumb then though, since he is quite capable of studying efficiently.

Also what was the point of going through the passwords and stealing the key to the safe when Yoshii's being could just break though?

Book Dumb means that he hasn't studied, not that he can't.

He doesnt show effort into studying unless he has a motivation to do so.

Signed: Sorry, let me explain. There is a type of humor that I tend to call japanese humor, because a lot of japanese manga and animé use it, but it is used other places as well.

Basically,

Character X does Y.

So Character Z says "OMIGOD CHARACTER X DID Y!"

or something like that. That's what I mean, they have a desire to yell what's so weird or "funny" about a joke.

[up] huh?

So an OAD got subbed (something called "Matsuri") I am getting it now.

Three Steps
Yuuji was a childhood prodigy in that he was smart without having to study. He just learns quickly and has a good memory and such. However, since he never had to study, once he got into higher levels of education he fell behind because intuition can only take you so far. And of course there's no correlation between being smart and magically knowing names and dates from a history class.

No, why did you reply to my post with a "huh"?
I thought Matsuri was alright; basically the same sort of stuff as the series was.

I'm more interested in the second Matsuri episode since it involves the ESB.

If the grades you get are supposed to affect your summoned being's equipment why does Hideyoshi have a naginata (better weapon than Class E's rep) and why does Aiko of class A have no armor?
