First step: wiped out DBC's entry in A-C.

UPDATE: All examples from Dead Baby Comedy now merged in Black Comedy. Quotes already merged. Haven't corrected the wicks yet. How do you properly kill the old DBC page, do you simply make it a redirect page?

Tip: Look out for the word "literal". There's a staggering number of them.

I say just scrap whichever entries are crosswicked with Dead Baby Comedy. They were typed up to fit a trope we no longer have. I say it is better to get rid of them than to try to "adjust" them to fit the remaining trope.

Sure, this will mean we have some works with Black Comedy that are not stated on the works page to be that. But we already do anyway, so the point is moot.

Slowly working on it now. If enough context is given, though, I change it to Black Comedy. Many times, for some reason, anything edgy at all is automatically deemed to be DBC.

Should this be moved to special efforts or something?

It looks like the cleanup has stopped... and like the page has gained wicks in the time since it has stopped.

Bumping. It's at 952 wicks now, and given, can we get a fake redlink on the old name?

I'm not sure what the procedures are... But if it's possible, that sounds like a plan.

I think we should just have Dead Baby Comedy explained on the Black Comedy page and leave the wicks as they are. Right now, few of the Dead Baby Comedy examples make sense on the Black Comedy page. This is not a horrible misuse that's destroying the wiki. It's a discernible difference in definition between the two that we nevertheless voted to merge. Merging doesn't have to mean "subsume the other trope entirely and pretend it never existed".

But these wicks don't always agree what Dead Baby Comedy is. Many take it literally, many don't. Many think it's about a series, many think anything can qualify.

I'd agree with those who say that dead baby comedy is a sub-genre based on shock and bad taste. If we must merge, explaining the various subtypes on the black humor page is appropriate.

Dead Baby Comedy is being interpreted differently back then. Although, we can always explain that in the Black Comedy page.
