I've had this idea pressing at my mind for a while now, and it's pretty much now or never to start looking for collaborators. The short explanation: It's like Darths And Droids meets The Abridged Series.

It's a Gag Dub of a show, presented as a tabletop game. The cast will not be static, as it is in most works presenting a tabletop gaming group; more precisely, there will be multiple "games", either flowing from one to another with one campaign or portion of a campaign representing an arc, or shown as the games being run concurrently and therefore episodes alternating between them; the "GM" will change from campaign to campaign. My idea for the narrative is that each genre will represent a different game system and each GM should have their own preferred genre-system, but neither of these things is absolute.

So with that said, I need one thing more than anything else, actors, and the only requirement for that is that you be able to record your voice with good enough quality. As mentioned the cast is not static, so if there is an excess of interest, different players can always appear in different games; thus if you're interested you're almost guaranteed to have a role. If you're interested in a contribution other than acting, just say so. Even though I have the capabilities myself I certainly won't refuse help from people who want to write or edit, or anything else that would lighten my load.

I do request that actors make requests. I already have a loose idea for the first arc, but that may change based on the interests of the actors, including what kinds of characters they want to play and what genre they're most interested in.

Currently the cast is:

Ezekiel as Zeke
Dundee as Lisa
Xiphoniii as Slide

For our first arc, we're doing Inu Yasha, in D&D style.

Scripting: Episode 2 completed

Recording: Episode 1 partially done
Lisa's lines finished

Always wanted to be part of an abridged series, but I can never find a decent microphone Translation: I'm lazy and don't want to go spend 15 bucks at radioshack for some piece of crap :(

Is this a good enough sample? Never really done anything like this before, but I'm willing to give it a shot!

Sounds good enough to me. A speech impediment shouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle, I think.

Hmm...I temporarily have access to a mic, and will(sooner or later) get my own. So I'm up for it. I vote we do Hellsing. Seems to fit. We could be playing Vampire the masquerade.

Hi, Xiphoniii! I'm pretty sure we're working on an Inu Yasha roleplay right now which is good because I've never seen Hellsing all the way through. However, I don't know if Ezekial's started on the script yet or not, so I should probably do some catch up.

edit: Okay, that's three i's, not two.

I'm presently about 3/4 finished with a first draft of the first episode's script, actually. I've already discussed it with Xi, and he's up for Inuyasha.

I've been a bit busy but we are working on this. Last I heard the guy playing Mark was about halfway done with his lines. I'm not very far in myself but like I said I'm on it.

Ah, okay. Good. :) I'm sorry I stopped writing the script, but I thought I should give everyone else a chance since I'd already written a lot. Looks like the people involved aren't really writer-type people, so I'll try and help you hammer out the third ep tomorrow. I start classes tomorrow also, so I won't be available 24/7(which is probably a good thing in the long term), but I should still have quite a bit of free time to work with you guys.

Maybe I'll get a mike after moving to Savannah... you guys seriously need some peeps to pretend to power play. Pompusly.

Preferably preventing performing posthumously.

Pardons provided.

In case anyone's wondering, there have been delays, which... wasn't totally unexpected. It's always slow starting a new project after all. Still, I'd at least hoped to be farther along on my own portion of the work than I am by now...

Okay, I'm looking at replacing myself with someone else for the recording. My schedule is kind of bad so I'm probably not going to be able to keep up with the volume of lines required of the DM; better to limit myself to player roles, plus writing and splicing. My replacement is looking over the script right now.

I hate that I even have to make a status update for this.

Okay, the guy playing Mark has completed his lines... I think. He was supposed to email them to me but I haven't gotten them yet, but it's easy enough to fix if I can just contact him.

The guy I've asked to take over as the GM hasn't started his lines yet due to schoolwork, since the semester is ending and all. He should be starting this weekend.

No, I've been busy as well. Finals are next week at my school and I've got summer classes after that, so I've got a bit of a time squeeze here. I'll start working on the episode 3 script as soon as I have the chance.

I know squat about Inuyasha, but if you ever need a big, deep voice, I'm your man.

Okay, bit of an update I guess: I am now approximately nine hours away from taking my last exam for the semester. Two days after that I begin summer semester. Depending on how much the summer semester interferes with my schedule, I will either begin writing episode 3 then, or at the end (it's three weeks).

Still waiting on two people's lines. That said...

http://typewith.me/LQPOZXkBjt

Take a look. The lines for "Mark" and "Leon" are the ones I'm waiting for. It's been long enough to call their reliability into question. I'm still going to try and get the lines from them first, but if someone else does the job first, we can get the people who are actually going to do their part into this thing and finish sometime before the heat death of the universe.

If you do, though, pick a new name. The names represent one of the actors as much as one of the characters.

Hmm, interesting... I've got my brother here for a few days, I'm gonna see if he's interested, or if we have enough time to record some stuff. He was the one to get me into Inu Yasha in the first place, and he has a lot more acting experience than me, so I think he'll want to see what this is about.
