Yup, thankfully, the DS isn't region-locked.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! The short answer: Probably.
The long answer: There's a handful of games that will be region-locked if you try playing them on an out-of-region D Si (XL), most notably Pokemon B/W. If you have a DS Phat or Lite, you won't have a problem.
And "Reality" is unveiled. What did it want...? What did it see...? What did it hear...? What did it think...? What did it do...?In case anyone else is wondering about anything else: of the other current systems, the Playstation 2 and Wii are always region-locked, the Playstations 3 and Portable are never region-locked, and the Xbox 360 is, I believe, sometimes region-locked, depending on the game.

You can't really call the PS 2 "current" anymore...
I can and do! I don't find anything at all improbable about the idea of someone wanting to import a Playstation 2 game, even if it has most likely been out of print for several years.

And P S2s are still being manufactured and sold, aren't they?
Importing on PS 2 is easy—all you need is either a mod chip, or an imported PS 2 (I've heard of other tricks but never tested them). For my money, the imported PS 2 is better because mod chips can cause wonky behavior, including the PS 2 suddenly not recognizing games it actually can play.
visit my blog! There are VERY FEW region-free 360 games right now.
I ended up getting a Japanese 360 just to play a few games I really want to play. It's quite worth it for me, although your mileage may widely vary.

This may sound stupid, but say a game is imported to another country and I have a DS but am in America. If I bought the game over there or had it shipped here, would it still run on my DS?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
