I'm surprised we don't have a thread yet for this.

So I got HL 2 Episode One out of the latest wave of Steam sales (Thanks, J Bridge!) and I'm currently in the level where you have to get the antlion juice to save Alyx.

Too many bloody antlions in this game! At least the part where you play Tower Defense-ish sorta game with turrets, humans and a bunch of tunnels was cool.

Also, dark caves + barnacles = my weakness. :(

Also also, I've also been playing this mod lately. I'm currently on "Aerial Bombardment" and OH DEAR LORD A HUNTER-COPTER AND A GUNSHIP.

I think you mean Episode 2, since 2 is where you save Alyx.

And I need to start playing Obsidian Conflict again, but my Source SDK '07 folder is missing a critical DLL or two, which makes me unable to run the mod.

I can run other Source mods perfectly fine though, it seems.

Yeah, I meant Ep2.

So Obsidian Conflict is basically Sven Co-Op: Source?

Also also, I want unscripted fight sequences for Dog in ep3. >:( When and if it comes out.

Yeah, that, and Synergy. From what I hear, both are pretty dead.

Ugh, trying to make SMOD (the original) work. The Orange Box version CT Ds. I'm waiting on a few model releases so I can make Smod Tactical more unrealistic (so far, I've got a Replica Soldier with Revy's Sword/Cutlasses and bullet time).

Back on topic: Am I the only one who found Hunters mildly annoying? I figured out the "pulse rifle's secondary fire = insta-pwn" rather quickly.

^^At this point it pretty much could end up being Half-Life 3.

@Jackerel: How DO you make SMOD work on the current version of Half-Life 2 and its family, anyway?

Also, the problem with using the Pulse Rifle orbs on Hunters is that you run out of orbs pretty quickly.

@Jackerel: Actually, OC is doing much better than Synergy at the moment. The team for OC is preparing to move on to Steamworks.

Also, as far as SMOD: Tactical goes, have you seen this?

@Charles - This. Onemanshow released a fix for Smod 40a. It works, at least, for me, and the AI's fixed.

Sadly, doesn't have an arsenal as big as SMOD: Redux.

Anyone got any other single-player mods that can be run by someone with only episode 2?

^Look for "Joutomaa," I think that needs Ep. 2.

Rocket - yeah, I did. Had to re-do all the weapons I worked on, though. The only thing that pisses me off is that all helicopter sequences are near-impossible (unless you cheat).

Alright, gonna download Obsidian Conflict. Sven Coop's been dying. A few guys on Gmod were able to get a co-op working, themselves.

On the other hand, does anyone have MINERVA? I like the level design. Actually, would - but it crashes when I get to the Combine breach.

Yeah, there's still some servers and people around for OC. Oh, and you might have to download a custom map or two.

Obligatory Concerned trope link, because I'm too lazy to link the actual sight.

HELL! HELL! YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE!

For some reason I like the parts where the antlions and zombies are fighting each other in Ep2, if only because normally most three-way battles are a cliche you-versus-armydudes-versus-zombies/bugs, and so seeing the "unusual" enemies fighting each other is a twist (nevermind that the antlions have a huge advantage because of the acid spitter drones).

Well, the Zombies have the Fast Zombies.

Speaking of battles, the Obsidian Conflict mod has a map where you can bet on NP Cs that fight each other.

Ugh, I wish there was a good zombie single-player mod.

Outbreak doesn't count.
