Okay back on the OP, under present law all forms of ritual female genital mutilation modification is illegal. While it safe to say that a clit-b-gone isn't cool, should we relax the law to allow fairly harmless 'rituals nicks'?

Well, what are the benefits of female circumcision?

[up][up]Only if performed by someone who knows what they're doing. It still isn't something society should encourage.

I don't think there are any benefits to female circumcision.
Be not afraid...

[up] That's a rather non-sensical answer.

And I'm still wondering how the "ritual nick" compares to something like a piercing.

[up]They can only cut your clitoris off once

I haven't been able to find much information I what exactly the proposed 'ritual nick' entails. But I assume that it's something simler the male circumcision in terms of bodily damage.

I tried a quick google search on Female Genital Mutilation but I couldn't find anything other Clitoridectomy. Apart from Ero Guro. DX.

Actually I remember reading somewhere that shortening of the clitoral hood is a common cosmetic procedure for women who have trouble reaching orgasm because their clits can't get out when aroused. since this is legal and since the hood is the female analogue to the foreskin, I guess it means that there is no double standard

Hmm, that makes sense. Forget the name of it, but there's a comparable male condition, something like phigmosis(?) that requires circumcision for the same reason.
Hodor
It's Phimosis.
