To be honest, the Genesis was my sister's thing. Aside from the various Game Boys, my very own first console was an N64, though I mostly remember using it to play the various Pokémon spinoff games (and this one NHL game that I'm pretty sure I never understood how to play because I never watched hockey), in addition to Mario Kart 64. Didn't even know the Dreamcast existed at the time, and I certainly don't remember anyone at school talking about it (but, then, I don't remember really having any friends in my classes).
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I'm pretty sure the Sonic Gems version of CD isn't the remaster. I still enjoyed that version.
What was the remaster released on? I don't think I've played that one.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. What if there is a remastered stage of Sonic CD for Sonic Mania?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. That'd be kinda pointless.
I mean, as much as I was being hyperbolic there, I don't think the prior versions of Sonic CD are unplayable, by any means, but the remaster certainly polishes the game's MANY rough edges. I don't remember much about the Gems Collection version, other than not enjoying the level design (and I'll admit, the remaster didn't make me like it any more, that game's levels make no sense sometimes), but I do remember having tons of issues with a PC version that I got. Admittedly, I only got that version so I could rip the CD audio, but after I made sure all the compatibility issues were taken care of (including that patch for it), I tried playing the game and had it crash on me in (appropriately enough) Collision Chaos Zone 1. And, before it crashed on me, I had issues with the palette and with the collision detection (again, appropriate zone for that) and the walls.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. The Special Stages are still terrible though.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That's par for the course for a special stage in a Sonic game.
COME AT ME BRO
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I maintain that Sonic 1 had the best Special Stages. Fight me.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I like Sonic Rush's Special Stages most. They're like Sonic 2's, except a lot better.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniSame.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!3 and K had the best Special Stages.
Odd: The Gems Collection version is basically the PC version.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I happen to like Advance 1 and 3's the best.
I recall them being pains in the butt when I was a kid, though.
The Saturn version of 3D Blast had the best music, though.
Oh yeah, I also like the Genesis 3D Blast Special Stages for being the easiest in the series in a game that's enough of a chore to complete.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."You know what, I will say I did enjoy Advance 3 and the 3DS version of Generations' Special stages. The former was incredibly enjoyable and a unique twist on the overdone halfpipe ring collecting thing (since instead of a halfpipe, it was going around in an airplane—I'd imagine if this game had a Sonic 2-esque multiplayer-in-single-player thing, one player would control the plane while the other grabs the rings). The latter was pretty much the only really thrilling part of that game, even if it was basically just Sonic Heroes' special stages but with the boost.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Did You Know: Characters have a stage specific quote during their Idle Animation in SA2?

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Wellp, guess I know why I'm trying out today.
... Or just possibly looking up on youtube.
That's pretty impressive. I might have to try that too.
A single quote per stage...RNG-ed between set quotes.
I honestly doubt it'll be on the youtube system, this seems real specific...and doesn't require exploration like most secrets.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Where did you find out about it?
I was just screwing around in City Escape. Did a bug with the two dash pads that send you back and fourth, where you just slide and it still allows the idle animations to happen. So I just decided to let that go for a bit and heard Sonic say something about the City's hills.
I didn't even know about the idle animation quotes in this game at all, so it was like a double surprise.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I looked it up and didn't find anything, you might have uncovered something new. You win sonic sleuth of the month!
Awesome, Randomness is never the first to document something before.
Close enough, I think.
I usually confirm stuff that others don't remember.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I was replying Sonic 3 standalone earlier today.
I was literally trying to not use the Insta-Shield when I got 50 rings on most stages because I wanted to hear the music.
Which wasn't an issue with Launch Base Zone because I couldn't even get 50 rings.
Is Launch Base Zone easier in Sonic 3 and Knuckles than it is in Sonic 3 standalone?

Hearing the talk of you guys being kids when the SNES and Genesis were new makes me feel very young...I grew up with a GBA and Gamecube and mostly played Mario spinoffs and licensed games. Basically, my first games with Sonic in them were Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Super Smash Bros Brawl.
