Here's a couple more pics of Poipoider: 1, 2...probably not good for the page, but they could make Image Links material.

Bump...any other thoughts?

We might as well make a crowner.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Alright, the TRS thread is still ongoing, although the crowner is very much in favor of splitting this into three separate tropes, of which the Poipoder pics would fit one of them.

Motion to close this thread and create new IP threads when the proposed tropes are created when the TRS thread resolves

Or we could just figure out all three here, and not worry about putting up three threads that would risk another backlog on Image Picking.

[up] We could certainly do that, too.

Well in that case, I propose the dolphin in a mecha suit be for Sentient Cetacean (since he's operating it), the Mario World pic for Playful Dolphin (since leaping out of the water and letting Mario bounce on them is included in the mini description on the crowner), but I don't have a current suggestion for Heroic Dolphin.

[up] I'd be fine with those first two ideas, although a pic of someone doing tricks with a dolphin would work equally well for Playful Dolphin. Hopefully GIS can turn up some pics of dolphins assisting people in the ocean for Heroic Dolphin.

Well I was figuring since the Mario pic is already uploaded, we could work with that.

The porpoise in the mech is great for Sapient Cetacean or whatever that page is named.

Judging by the date on your post, it was made on the 22nd of November, which judging by the launches list is from before I launched Playful Dolphin, but I like to think my Dolphin Tale pic is more fitting for that trope, as it shows a dolphin grabbing a toy.

Not sure about Sapient Cetaceans, though. I used the Ecco one as a placeholder, since showing a dolphin swimming in Atlantis with dialogue that indicates familiarity with it would at least be better than nothing, but it is somewhat text-dependent. I'm not sure what mecha suit pic you're referring to, so it's hard to judge whether or not it'd be an improvement.

And now it's here...not sure if I like it better than the Ecco one or not.

... yeah, that one looks pretty silly. I would rather have a serious example than a silly one for the page image, especially when the examples vary in level of seriousness.

That, and the Ecco one just looks better.

If only I had a good pic of one of David Brin's neo-dolphins in a walker-mech, operating a spaceship.

Clock is set. Heroic Dolphin and Friendly, Playful Dolphin both have pics now (although the latter could stand to be better quality), and Sentient Cetacean still hasn't been made yet...I think we're good to close this down. Yea/nay?
