OK, the Main page for THHGTTG lists the instalments of books, under H2G2/Name, except for the first, which appears to have been mixed up with a page for the series of literature, not a page for just the first instalment. I'm guessing somebody got confused (easy enough, seeing as there's Film, Radio and TV namespaces) and messed it up at some point. However, it has few tropes and they're from different books. Anybody want to try clearing this up?

Wasn't it split into individual books or something?

It was, but from what I recall, only for those books after the original title. There's no separate page for the first book in the series.

Bumping this instead of starting a separate thread.

Seriously, this needs to be fixed. As it stands, we have a page for the series as a whole, a page for the book series as a whole, a page for the radio series that started it all, a page for the TV show, a page for the game, a page for the movie, and a page for each book...except the first.

How can we include every last conceivable form of the guide, and completely neglect the first entry of the book series?

This still hasn't been done. Since the ptitle the discussion was opened for seems to have been cut, I've taken the liberty of pointing the tag at the page that seems to have been intended.

Bumping again. The game's been switched over to the VideoGame/ namespace and we still don't have an entry for the first book.

I think the simplest thing would be to lump all of the novels under Literature / The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and get rid of the individual pages (turning them into redirects, I suppose).

We have precedent for using the Main namespace for series whose first installment shares the name of the series (Final Fantasy, Wild ARMs). I'd say put the main page in Main, and the first book in Literature. If we ever change our minds about having those indices in Main, we can fix them all en masse with a common, consistent solution.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.

What exactly is the issue? Work pages are a free launch. Just using the same namespace as we did for the rest of the books.

Are there any outstanding issues here that require an active TRS thread?

The problem is that we have The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy for he whole series, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for the series of books, and no page for the book with the same name.

I guess we could move all the info on the series of books to the page on the whole series, and then The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy will be free to use for the first book?

We have a namespace just for these books. Nothing needs to be moved.

If people really think this is an issue, they need to just go ahead and make the page for the book in question. You don't need to tie up a TRS slot to do that.

Oh, I didn't notice that. In that case, yeah, there's no issue.
