This seems to be the go-to trope for clones and cloning in general. The tone and the Laconic entry both seem to boil down to "Being a Clone is Bad", but the description breaks down into what seems to be several distinct Clone Tropes, and anything clone-related that doesn't necessarily fit the "Sad Clone is Sad" tone tends to link here anyway. Heck, check the Real Life examples under the main article: Do you think those bugs and plants are at all perturbed by being copies of their parents?

Guys...we may need to start cloning more Clone Tropes.

Hmmm... The description looks okay, but you're right. The examples could use some cleaning up.

I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.

Should we just make a clone trope, expand Our Clones Are Identical to fit as a Super-Trope, or do nothing but clean the page?

Robotic clones, I think, would feel different than a biological clone. 'I'm not even human! ' sort of thought. At least a soft split for them.

I took a look at the examples and there's a lot of missue. Some examples should go to 'send in the clones' and still others to 'me's a crowd'. This trope is just about clones angsting about being clones. A supertrope, All Clones Are Identicial, would be a good idea

I vote for making Our Clones Are Identical a Super-Trope. Angst about being/having a clone is a specific thing. A lot of these entries are simply "this character is a clone". Clone Are People Too and Send in the Clones also have this problem to a lesser extent.

Bumping to try and get this resolved. Clean up this one to make it just for being depressed about being a clone, and try and sort out the cloning tropes?

[up][up][up] My only gripe with this proposal is the "identical" part; either we remove it from the title of the Super-Trope, or make a subtrope about Non Identical Clone, where characters are referred to as "clones" either in-universe, via All There in the Manual, or by Word of God, and yet they are very different in appearance from the original person.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
